சும்மா அமைச்சரை அடிக்கணும்னு அடிக்காதீங்க! முதலில் விஷயத்தைப் புரிஞ்சுக்கோங்க. 🫠 ஓசூர் கெலவரப்பள்ளி அணையை எடுத்துக்கோங்க. பெங்களூரிலிருந்து தென்பெண்ணை ஆற்றில் கலக்கும் சுத்திகரிக்கப்படாத கழிவுநீர் காரணமாகப் பல ஆண்டுகளாக நுரை பிரச்சினை இருக்கிறது. கழிவுநீரில் கலக்கும் சோப்பு, ஷாம்பு, டிடர்ஜென்ட் போன்றவற்றில் உள்ள Surfactants நுரை உருவாகக் காரணமாகின்றன. அதே தண்ணீர் அமைதியாக ஓடும்போது நுரை பெரிதாகத் தெரியாது. ஆனால் தடுப்பணையிலிருந்து கீழே விழும்போதோ, பாறைகளில் மோதும்போதோ ஏற்படும் Turbulence காரணமாக நுரை அதிகமாக உருவாகிறது. இந்தப் பிரச்சினைக்கான முக்கியத் தீர்வு போதுமான STP (Sewage Treatment Plants) அமைத்து, சுத்திகரிக்கப்படாத கழிவுநீர் ஆற்றில் கலப்பதைத் தடுப்பதுதான். இதற்காகத் தமிழ்நாடு பல ஆண்டுகளாகக் கர்நாடகாவிடம் வலியுறுத்தி வருகிறது. விவசாயத்திற்குப் பயன்படுத்தப்படும் ஆற்றுநீரின் தரம் மிகவும் முக்கியம். அதே சமயம், கெலவரப்பள்ளியும் திருப்பூர் நொய்யலும் வெவ்வேறு ஆறுகள். திருப்பூரில் நுரைக்கான காரணத்தை நீர் மாதிரி பரிசோதனை மூலம்தான் உறுதிப்படுத்த முடியும். நுரை வந்தாலே சாயக்கழிவுதான் என்று முடிவெடுக்க முடியாது. சோப்பு, ஷாம்பு மட்டும்தான் காரணம் என்றும் சொல்ல முடியாது. அமைச்சர் ராஜீவ் சொன்னதன் பின்னணியை முழுமையாகப் புரிந்துகொள்ள முதலில் முழு Press Meet-ஐ வெளியிடுங்கள்! ஒரு சில நொடிகள் கொண்ட Video Clip-ஐ மட்டும் வைத்து விமர்சிப்பதைவிட முழு Context-ஐ தெரிந்துகொள்வது முக்கியம்! For more than a decade, the Thenpennai River has faced severe foaming problems associated with untreated sewage entering from Bengaluru. Sewage containing soaps, shampoos and detergents carries surfactants that can produce foam. When polluted water flows calmly, the foam may be barely noticeable. But when the same water falls over a dam, crosses a check dam or hits rocks, turbulence agitates the water, creating massive amounts of visible foam. This is basic science, not some newly invented explanation. The long-term solution is adequate Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) and preventing untreated wastewater from entering rivers. Tamil Nadu has repeatedly raised this issue with Karnataka because the Thenpennai is also an important irrigation water source. However, Kelavarapalli and Tiruppur's Noyyal are different rivers. The precise causes of foaming in Tiruppur must be established through water-quality testing, including checks for industrial pollution. Foam alone does not prove textile dye pollution. Equally, it does not prove that soaps and shampoos are the only cause. Before attacking Minister Rajeev over a selectively circulated clip, shouldn't we first watch his entire press conference?
