🐦 We're delighted to share something exciting we have been working on for the past few months...'The Lookout', a bespoke new Bird viewing platform installed at Cosmeston Lakes Country Park in Penarth.
🦆 Interpretation panels will be installed shortly to provide information on which birds you might see on your visit and what makes Cosmeston an ideal habitat for them to call home. Share your sightings using #valenature and record your finds using the free LERC Wales app!
This commission was made possible through funding from @WelshGovernment #localplacesfornature scheme as part of our Nature Neighbours project.

We touched on the various citizenscience surveys that participants cld get involved in & how to record regularly using Wales LERC app. #biodiversitymatters – at Merthyr Tydfil, Wales

🌱A big thank you to local residents and Restore The Thaw Landscape Project for their help in creating a new wildflower margin at Vale of Glamorgan Council Windmill Lane Playing Fields, using native wildflower seeds and plug plants.
This 2 metre wide strip will be cut around twice a year, with the arisings removed to allow it to flourish. The rest of the field will be cut as normal and access will remain at entrance gates for vehicles and pedestrians.

For thousands of years, Swifts have been our summer companions, filling the skies with their distinctive calls and breathtaking aerial displays. But now, these incredible birds are in decline and we need to act fast to protect them.
We need your help! We’re looking for volunteers to become Swift Guardians, helping us monitor and record Swift sightings across Barry.
We're are also offering free swift boxes, inviting these incredible birds to nest in homes and buildings across the Vale!
