Peaceful protests is a democratic activity. Last time I heard India was a democratic country.

You know how annoying it is when you receive a paper to review, and it's just badly done or even AI slop? And you're like "it's not my job to clean up the stuff you were too lazy to do"?
Now also imagine that it's about a topic that you've been working on for years. And that you can't really trust the results or check them, but it still takes away a large part of the rewards you could get for doing it well.
And that slopocalypes happens to your entire field, all at once.
I can understand why the mathematicians are pissed.

I’m like the opposite of Ai. It took me over an hour to write a simple email, and I didn’t consume a single drop of water all day.

Mama,
I last saw you and Papa together more than 35 years ago. Since the day Papa left, I have watched you face everything life threw at you with never-ending courage and dignity. Only Priyanka and I really know what you have been through, and how difficult your life after Papa truly was.
I am happy, and so proud, that your story - “Belonging: A Journey of Love” - will finally be read by the millions of people who love you. I know how hard it was for someone as private as you to tell the world your beautiful story.
Today, on his birthday, I can see Papa smiling and looking down proudly at his beautiful Sonia.
Love,
Rahul

So the first woman on the Lord’s Test match honours board is a young’un from a small town in Madhya Pradesh, whose name means revolution. Extremely fun anecdote for the ages, that.

No one knows you. No one has a story about who you are. No one is waiting for you to be the person you were yesterday. You're just a stranger in a chair by the window, watching a city that doesn't need anything from you.
It's the feeling that anything could happen. That the world is bigger than the walls you built around yourself back home. That the life you've been living is just one version of a life, and there are others, and they're not as far away as you thought.
At home, you're fixed. Known. You fit into a shape that other people recognize, and after a while, you forget you're even in a shape at all. But here, alone, somewhere new, the shape dissolves. You could be anyone. You could be more of yourself than you've ever been. No one is watching to see if you stay consistent.

The less you eat, drink and buy books; the less you go to the theatre, the dance hall, the public house; the less you think, love, theorise, sing, paint, fence, etc., the more you save – the greater becomes your treasure which neither moths nor rust will devour – your capital. The less you are, the less you express your own life, the more you have, i.e., the greater is your alienated life, the greater is the store of your estranged being. Everything which the political economist takes from you in life and in humanity, he replaces for you in money and in wealth; and all the things which you cannot do, your money can do.
