Trauma is the template for drug addiction. Especially opiate addiction. The more pain a person is in psychologically & emotionally — the greater the need for relief! It’s why methadone fails long term to break the cycle, as drugs don’t resolve the pain, they only numb it!

Pillars of the community, charitable and generous individuals DO abuse their partners and commit murder. Society needs to stop being surprised and start recognising the signs. They present an image to the outside, whilst reserving who they really are for behind closed doors.

I genuine dislike the term ‘parental alienation’. I think we need to look at ALL the ways a relationship between a parent and child can be disrupted or broken and look at it without the heavy reliance on a term that continues to be controversial, misunderstood and weaponised.
