Three key attributes of great leaders: Think “We” first, not “me” first; Believe a rising tide floats all boats, not zero sum game, and; Seek first to understand (Empathy), then to be understood. We all have the capacity to be great leaders! #Leadership #Duty #Honor #Country 🇺🇸

Excited to attend and celebrate a great career of leadership and service to our great nation. To a good friend and classmate, congratulations @centcomcdr 🇺🇸#Leadership #NTTG #WCE

Liberal democracy works. It’s never been purely linear, but it’s always moved up and to the right over time. Worth being patient with, and fighting for. Choosing the “harder right” over easy wrongs is… hard, and freedom has never been free. ✌🏾 #Duty #Honor #Country #Leadership
"We’ve seen frightening reversals to the progress of liberal democracy over the past 15 years, but setbacks do not mean that the underlying narrative is wrong. None of the proffered alternatives look like they’re doing any better," writes @FukuyamaFrancis: on.theatln.tc/clXvkXg

Choosing the “harder right over the easier wrong” is, well,… hard. But as my classmate @daveanderson88 said so eloquently, “You can’t call it courage if the only time you speak up is when you think you can’t be hurt by it.” #MLKDay #Leadership #Duty #Honor #Country 🇺🇸✊🏾✌🏾
🧵 A thread of #MLK speeches, sermons and interviews in which he tells inconvenient truths, shares about his philosophy of nonviolence, and expounds on injustice and what our righteous, rigorous response should be.
Relevant. Revelatory. Revolutionary.

Beautiful West Point, NY - home of the United States Military Academy (my alma mater). It is the oldest continuously operating post in the U.S. and was the first American college to have an accredited civil engineering program. #westpoint #wpaog #goarmywestpoint #usma
THIS is what #Leadership looks like! Proud of the “broad liberal education” #USMA provided. Made me a better person, leader, American. We should all be so fortunate to at least have the “desire” to be open minded, to listen, understand, to challenge, respectfully #Duty #Honor 🇺🇸
#Diversity #Equity #Inclusion = #Leadership. America’s built on taking the best, brightest, and most motivated, regardless of #race #creed #religion #gender or other factors, and creating an environment where #success is facilitated and earned through effort and #teamwork 👍🏾💪🏾🇺🇸

Sports teach so much more than the physical skills required to succeed. Grit, determination, perseverance, honor, integrity, and the belief in something bigger than yourself, namely the team and your teammates. Leaders are born upon the fields of friendly strife. #Leadership 🏈
Warriors always love their fellow soldier more than they hate the enemy. Do we really need an enemy, a country, ideology, movement, religion, a virus, to do that? Great leaders rally those around them “FOR” something, not against. Love leads. Fear and hatred retreat #Leadership

We stand on the shoulders of giants. Brave men and women who endured great hardships that we may have better lives. Our deepest empathy does not capture their pain and suffering, yet they lived happy and fulfilled. 👇🏾From the brother of a dear friend @RepJeffries #NYULaw 😔💪🏾🙏🏾😇

#Leadership begins with the person you see in the mirror, and then the people you see at the dinner table, and in your neighborhood, and then your workplace, and then.... #Leadership is ground up, not top down #Duty #Honor #Country

PLEASE #VOTE 🙏🏾 I care less about for whom than that you do. If this great nation is truly “of, for, and BY the people,” then we must do our part. Stop being a sideline critic. Get in the arena! #Duty #Honor #Country #Leadership 🇺🇸

There is dignity in all work, but it is one thing to have a job, quite another to have a purpose. Leaders give purpose to their teams, enhancing their dignity, and improving the quality of their work. A rising tide floats all boats. #Leadership #Duty #Honor #Country
