Voy a dejar de escuchar a Bach porque en la guerra austro-turca no se manifestó en contra de los otomanos.

I agree. Almost any theodicy I ever read struck me as simply morally offensive. This is because some evils are so horrific that *any* purported general explanation of them inherently seems to downplay and trivialize their horror and is therefore insensitive and offensive.

Of course this map is going around again despite the fact that it is completely nonsensical and misleading. 1. In 1946 the land was part of the BRITISH MANDATE of Palestine. There was no Palestinian country at that time or before. The British Mandate was established after the land was taken from the Ottoman Empire, during WWI, a consequence of the expansionism of the Ottomans. The Ottoman Empire did not call this land Palestine. 2. The aim of the British Mandate was to eatablish a Jewish nation where Arabs and Jews could live together. They quickly realized that this is not possible which is why the partition (image 2) was proposed. A state for Arabs and a state for Jews. The British authority was not fond of the Arabs or the Jews. They botched the final plan and left. 3. The Jews ACCEPTED the plan and established Israel. The Arabs REJECTED the UN Partition Plan because they wanted all of the land, which is why they immediately came together with neighboring Arab countries and declared war on Israel. Over the decades Israel emerged victorious from the repeated aggressions and expanded its territory. This is also called FAFO. 4. Throughout the decades, there was still no Palestinian state. The Arab territories, when they were not occupied by Israel, were held by Egypt and Jordan which did not plan on establishing a "Palestinian State." 5. 1988 was the first time that a Palestinian state was declared which means the first 3 maps are all factually wrong. 6. Israel left Gaza in 2005 but the people or Gaza elected the genocidal Hamas which officially declared that they will fight and not recognize Israel. The West Bank is governed by a different authority which has been more receptive to peace but has so far rejected all offers for a two state solution because they think they could somehow get the old borders back and/or also invalidate other consequences of the aggressive wars. So, the Zionists did not come and slowly "steal" the land known as "Palestine." They grew in a land that was designed for Jews and Arabs by those who rightfully held the land. The two Palestinian territories can't even agree with each other, so it is no surprise that they can't agree with Israel. As the years go by, they lose more and more and have nobody but themselves to blame. Rewriting the history certainly won't help them.

One thing that annoys me is when people who (correctly) say we must distinguish between Palestinians and Hamas, simultaneously treat “Israel” as this homogenous blob that encompasses civilians, the military, the Netanyahu administration, radical settlers, Zionist intellectuals in America, etc. One side is collectively judged by, and considered synonymous with, anyone on that side who exercises power or authority, while those exercising power or authority on the other side are considered wild outliers and thoroughly unrepresentative of the true nation.
