I like to take pictures more than anything. However, I like taking pictures of food or my cat. If my husband and I go somewhere fun or an event, I will take pictures and maybe video. I do keep a kudo folder of my accomplishments.

I am the most proud of doing things that my past self would have never imagined I could do such as speaking at different events, being part of different committees, etc. Plus my first project and lines of code because it is when I truly felt like a developer.

> physical dev setbacks
When I was young and poor, I wrote Code on an Atari 800 that would regularly overheat and crash when run too long
I had to guess how much new Code to memorise before I stopped everything to wait a long while to dump a fresh snapshot to tape

Finished another practice run of my talk. Was a little bit short on time now. Taking a break to get some dinner and reflect.

that is nice question. my dream job is kind of nomad life indie developer. able to work from anywhere from the world not bound by desk or something.( it's long run thinking though....)
- I have taken baby steps to reach there...
- first land a job at the field.

Whether I work from home or an office, I get dressed every morning as if I were going out into the world.
I dress mostly casual, jeans and t-shirts or polos. But I never work in PJs or sweats.
I also make it a habit to interact with people daily and at least take a walk.

Too many Engineers rudely sneer it down, but it opens People up, gives them words to say what they feel
Hated as too femme, too woo, too much. But it works

> Are you still using Stack Overflow
lol brutal word choice
myself, i never did find my welcome there, i never got to where i wanted to read what they say
it did me little good before and less now
but i hear it was beloved, like as much as Wikipedia

The command line is my day-to-day choice, but I also appreciate the power of GUI tools for visualising more complex scenarios.

Q4. What tools do you use to work with git? Do you use the command line or a GUI?

> Q2. Is software development something you find stimulating, calming, stressful or some mix of them all?
It’s an emotional rollercoaster
I write the Code, it does not work => I feel low
I fix a bug => I feel high
It turns out it is not the last bug => I feel low
Loop loop

Definitely all the amazing people and now mentors that gave me a chance to talk and cultivate relationships with them as I embark on this new journey <3
It's Friday, and at Virtual Coffee, we do a gratitude check-in.
Let's end this chat with some gratitude. What are you grateful for this week? 🙏

> Q3. What aspects of what you do in tech do you wish the general public knew more of?
Oh I keep going back to Thompson 1984 “Reflections on Trusting Trust”
That Code I practically told you to trust because I made it? Umm, I don’t exactly know it’s a friend

Yesterday, I got out from my comfort zone & co-run a Preptember event @VirtualCoffeeIO with @BekahHW. We went through the @saucedopen's Becoming a Maintainer Course & it was fun!
I'm glad that I took the chance bc I learned something new. ✨️
Thanks for the support, Bekah! 🥰

Juniors may get more accurate answers from artificial intelligence in the future, but more critical thinking will be necessary to distinguish what is right, good and reality. I hope more freedom instead of slavery, robots serving us, not the opposite.
