Supreme Court order dt 19 May 2026 directed that stray dogs found in educational institutions shud be captured & not released back. Instead, feeding spots are being created inside colleges, police is acting against those who object. It wud be best if SC just withdraws it's order.

So, @crime_kumar of @the_hindu is well aware of the SC orders directing the immediate removal of all stray dogs from institutional areas, right? Why did you deliberately hide this from your report? Hello @GHMCOnline @CommissionrGHMC @IITHyderabad - Why are stray dogs still roaming and residing on campus in direct contempt of SC orders? @hydcitypolice @TelanganaCMO @TelanganaDGP - Are you aware of these SC orders? How did your officers register FIRs against officials in the campus case in direct contravention of SC order? What action has been taken against individuals/NGOs violating SC orders? @IITHyderabad - Who is your nodal officer, and why are they not doing their job? Have you appointed a nodal officer in line with the SC order or not? Why are you not taking action against individuals violating SC orders in your campus? You are fully authorised to take action against anyone who violated SC orders in campus. Why did you not write an official complaint to local administration and Police for legal actions?

Dogs do not have any right to be fed in any premises. They do not retain the right to take over any premises - as per the Supreme court of India. And feeding is prohibited too. Order excerpts .

Issue is about stray dogs, not pets. DLF Golf Club has all resources to create a 5 star shelter for stray dogs. reason they are deliberately allowed to roam freely in playing & training areas is to bully, intimidate & drive away children who are fearful of dogs.
Attacked by this stray dog at DLF Golf Course in Gurgaon yesterday. The most expensive real estate in India, flats here cost 100 crore. There is literally nowhere left in the country where you can be safe from stray dogs. Obviously, lack of resources isn't the problem.

It was never about public safety. Stray dogs have always been about continuous business to pharma companies who keep the administration & politicians happy.

They plan to keep rabid dogs on the streets forever and make money out of it infinitely, unfortunately the public seems to be okay with this arrangement.

This procurement contract worth Rs 10 crore is the reason why MCD does not remove stray dogs. If stray dogs are removed, there will be no dog bites, and no need to procure Rabies vaccines. The whole business model will collapse, and the trail of commissions will stop.

Why have stray dogs not been removed from the airport terminal @DelhiAirport ? This is a blatant violation of Supreme Court orders, breach of security, and utter disregard for passenger safety.

🚨 FREEDOM HAS GONE TO THE DOGS. LITERALLY. 🚨 These photos should concern every parent, every woman, and every resident in our community. On ITI Layout / 5th Main, residents have repeatedly raised concerns about dogs being allowed to roam public streets without leashes. Reported dog-bite incidents have already left people injured, and yet neighbors say the situation continues unabated. 📸 Injured residents. 📸 Unleashed dogs roaming freely on public roads. 📸 The same behavior continuing despite repeated complaints and an FIR reportedly being filed. This is no longer a dispute between neighbors. This is a public safety issue. Parents should not have to worry whether their child will return safely from playing outside. Women should not have to plan their walks around aggressive, uncontrolled animals. Senior citizens should not be afraid to step out for their morning walk. Delivery personnel should not risk injury simply for doing their jobs. Nobody is asking for special treatment. Residents are asking for something far more basic: That existing laws and safety regulations be enforced before another preventable incident occurs. The evidence is visible. The complaints have been made. The concerns have been raised. The question now is: What will it take for authorities to act? A safe neighborhood should not be a privilege. It should be a guarantee. #PublicSafety #ChildSafety #WomenSafety #CitizenSafety #ResponsiblePetOwnership #LawAndOrder #Bengaluru #DogBite #CommunitySafety #Accountability @DCPECityBCP @DgpKarnataka @CPBlr @BlrCityPolice @DCP_ECITY @bandepalyaps @GBA_office

New India: If any stray dog causes a road accident or bites you, you will be held liable because you are supposed to "anticipate" the behaviour of stray dogs. Jai ho!
The Delhi High Court has held that a driver cannot escape liability for a road accident merely by claiming that the vehicle went out of control while trying to avoid a stray animal, observing that motorists are expected to anticipate hazards and exercise reasonable care. ✍️@RockySoibam thehindu.com/news/cities/Del…

Pretty soon some dog lover is going to file a PIL in SC that not allowing street dogs to bite people is a cruel restriction on dogs' freedom of expression. The day is not far off!

Dear Central and State Governments, - Why are stray dogs still roaming inside school/college campuses, hospitals, railway stations, bus terminals, parks, tourist places, temples, airports, private or public institutional areas and other high-footfall areas, even several months after the Supreme Court's orders in Suo Motu Case No. 5/2025 and the AWBI SOPs issued in line with them? - Why are complaints not being forwarded by authorities to the police to register FIRs against so-called feeders who are openly feeding stray dogs in direct violation of Supreme Court orders? - It is the responsibility of campus nodal officers and authorities to ensure that no stray dogs reside in or enter these premises. How are feeders still gaining access to these campuses and their immediate vicinities? - The Supreme Court allowed authorities to expand this order to other public areas, yet this is neither being implemented nor examined anywhere- even as thousands of people are bitten by stray dogs every month in every city across the country. Do you think the central and state governments are above Supreme Court @PMOIndia @HMOIndia ?

This is very true. Owning a dog & feeding stray dogs have become a status symbol in elitist circles, similar to owning a BMW or LV handbag. Anyone who doesn't comply is promptly branded classless, devoid of compassion & gets socially ostracized.
Replying to @shilpa_cn
Now dog ownership and feeding strays are considered as status symbol of kindness to the voiceless. Only feeding is their concern. Outcomes becomes responsibility of the municipality, corporation or panchayat.

What is the update on this? Are you guys implementing the SC order or not? @DelhiAirport
In light of recent incidents involving aggressive interactions between stray dogs and passengers and staff, we acknowledge the concern this may cause. Please be assured that passenger safety remains our highest priority. 1/4

1.5 Lakh dog bite cases in Mumbai (officially) Each dob bite needs 5+ injections of vaccines. Each vaccine costs ₹ 400+ Now multiply all these numbers and get the earnings from Mumbai. Same situation in every city. Do you think Rabies dog Mafia will let us end their business?

FACT CHECK: The surge in dog bite cases is due to the capture/ relocation programme being suspended. Sterilization does nothing to prevent dogs bites, and is ineffective as a population control measure in open environments.
