This makes me so sad to use precious funds for this insanity. Post preprints. Use the internet that now exists. You got into science to make a difference for society (like we all did) and so other scientists can leverage new advancements to catapult progress. Let’s act like we GAF.
Indian gov't is buying a subscription to 13,000 academic journals, and then making them all available to "18 million students, faculty, and researchers" for free. The cost is $715 million over 3 years. It includes Elsevier, Nature, and AAAS. Have any other countries done this?

This cryptic pocket has a function! The VP35 protein from Ebola virus performs multiple functions. We wanted to know if it toggles between different conformations that are responsible for different functions. It does! biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

We are born from a group of atoms, and after we die the atoms disperse. And then the atoms come together again and become part of another life.

Four years ago, a scientist I'd never met approached me and said: "I think you are probably wrong." Instead of arguing, we collaborated on a study to see if humans possess "nutritional wisdom." What we learned will surprise you! 🧵

A wonderful gift on #DurgaPuja to @Arunita_13 and the #DogLab @iiserkol from @ragh_gadagkar. The story of his research on wasps, his early journey into quantitative #ethology and of our #straydogs woven together beautifully. science.thewire.in/the-scien… @TheWireScience

I've never seen an antibody structure in the PDB where the authors were allowed to hide the sequence of all of the CDRs. PDB 6JMR, 6JMQ. All CDRs are "UNK" in sequence. I don't think this should be allowed. @buildmodels @PDBeurope @PDBj_en

Water is getting sprinkled out by an Amaltas tree. Have you ever seen this? This is called ‘Guttation’. It happens because of turgor pressure of the cells in case of excessive intake of ground water. VC: Surender Kumar, Forester DTR
