There's an underlying gender expectation in this tweet that I think is worth examining. Why is watching a woman cook automatically framed as such a satisfying experience, followed by the expectation of receiving a pot of food from her? It might sound romantic on the surface, but this is also how misogynistic gender roles are subtly reinforced and normalised. We've become so accustomed to associating women with domestic responsibilities that even when these expectations are expressed as affection or admiration, we rarely stop to question them. Why is the woman automatically positioned as the one who cooks, while the man assumes the role of the one who looks forward to enjoying the meal? Why isn't the satisfaction of watching the man you love cook equally celebrated? There's absolutely nothing wrong with a woman enjoying cooking for her partner, just as there's nothing wrong with a man appreciating a meal prepared by his partner. The problem is when an activity that should be a personal choice or a shared responsibility becomes an assumed obligation based on gender. Calling her your queen doesn't necessarily make the expectation any less rooted in traditional gender roles. Please share your candid thoughts on this @the_Lawrenz
Watching the woman You love cook a meal is so satisfying. I await your pot of glory, my queen.

an absolute disgrace of a governor, no light in lagos but youโ€™re attending a fashion walk
I stepped away from the usual business of governance to walk the runway for the incredibly talented Ugo Monye at Lagos Fashion Week. Lagos continues to grow as a home for fashion, creativity and culture and I am always happy to support the people driving this growth.

โ€œI like Soworeโ€ is the typical reply from a closet Tinubu supporter who is too cowardly to openly admit that they support Tinubu.

An unpopular hill Iโ€™m willing to die on is that Peter Obi not coming into power in 2023 was a blessing in disguise. It would have been a shit show. Ahhhh! From external sabotage to internal betrayal, they would have frustrated his government at every turn. We havenโ€™t gotten rid of all of them, but we are making progress. We are more aware.. 2023 needed to happen to get us here. Tinubu needed to be seen in his full nakedness. Nigerians will prevail ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ
A picture posted developed its own life, gave birth to several insinuations, captions and claims. They say a picture taken in front of a door means betraying your party and people, selling out and being paid out; โ€˜cash outโ€™ So sometimes, a picture tells a story. Sometimes, it leaves out the most important part. Before you draw your conclusions, or add to the story, see this. #hildadokubo

gst on Seyi Tinubu: โ€œFrom "city boy" messaging to public distribution of rice and relief items, and now visible immersion in youth culture spaces, a consistent pattern emerges: the translation of economic hardship into proximity-based influence. In a country where inflation is above 15%, food costs remain elevated, and over 60% of Nigerians live in poverty, access itself becomes leverage.โ€

Dr. Foy needs to let Greatman own his stage moments. Iโ€™ve seen him jump into Greatmanโ€™s performances at least 5 times now, and honestly, it often comes across as tacky rather than supportive. Itโ€™s not a boy band performance. Greatman is the artiste on that stage - ALLOW
