Can't emphasize this enough. Every power purchase agreement, for every company doing business in Texas, will have to be renegotiated to be higher as "change in law" provisions are exercised. Everyone's bills are going up if HB 3356 passes.

For any business or utility in the state that bought solar at $35 or $40/MWh, if HB3356 passes—remember it's retroactive—the developer then will tell you she has to buy 12 hrs of batteries & there's a contract provision covering change in law: new price is $100/MWh—or more.

The House Committee on State Affairs will likely vote on HB 3356 in a few minutes. This is a major threat, not just to renewable energy, but to the Texas economy. @txbiz study by @AuroraER_Oxford says it will result in a $6 million increase for industrial customers. #txlege 1/🧵
HB 3356 and SB 715 will raise power bills and lower reliability, all while pretending to be a fix. This proposal is expensive, inefficient & would lead to retirements of existing generation. The bill acknowledges "net increased cost to consumers." Who would pay for that? #txlege

@LaceyHullTx - please pay attention to this. We need to strengthen, not damage the grid
