Yesterday I found a funny bug while recording a video. In the selection screen, you are able to select the logo. I found The forensic of this bug is pretty interesting: A 🧵 1/n.
Twitter became very toxic for my taste. So I made my own where I keep posting stuff.

This was one of the coolest things I saw at GDC this year. The author @dan5sch just wrote a blog post on the project. Basically turning low-poly meshes into detailed voxel objects on the fly. The visual appearance is truly unique and extremely consistent.

Since C, "skill issues", and "memory safety" have been making the rounds again, I figured it'd be a good time to repost my article from a year ago, which outlines a key strategy in making correct memory management in C much closer to trivial:

Ok, let's debunk AI diffusion models by removing the AI and replacing it with classical methods. No neural networks, no training, just patch nearest neighbor search on the dataset with collage. This is what we get on the flower and faces dataset:

I used a modified telescope to capture high-speed video of the eclipse at a long focal length. Seeing the lumpy mountains of the moon against a backdrop of churning plasma is incredibly surreal.
(I hope you weren't sick of eclipse posts 😜)

Global crisis. TED talk by Rob Toews on what would happen in a country invaded Taiwan to claim all the chips, fabs & foundries.
-Whoever controls the chips, controls the world.
-TSMC is building a fab in 2025 in Phoenix in 2025.
-Samsung would be second winner compared to TSMC.
-Intel is a distant third.
-If Taiwan falls, AI industry is collapsed, a choke point.
-Speaker said it’s likely a war would happen over Taiwan in next decade.
And yes I have a great seat on the front balcony, stage right. @TEDAI2023

Helmet graffiti during the Vietnam War.
"A true war story is never moral. It does not instruct, nor encourage virtue, nor suggest models of proper human behavior, nor restrain men from doing the things men have always done. If a story seems moral, do not believe it. If at the end of a war story you feel uplifted, or if you feel that some small bit of rectitude has been salvaged from the larger waste, then you have been made the victim of a very old and terrible lie. There is no rectitude whatsoever. There is no virtue. As a first rule of thumb, therefore, you can tell a true war story by its absolute and uncompromising allegiance to obscenity and evil."
