Strong health information systems must do more than capture data from health facilities; they must help address the needs of the communities they serve. Through the #RAISESRHR initiative, Rwanda is working to strengthen SRHR data and accountability.
The national roadmap workshop is bringing together government, civil society, and development partners to identify priorities for strengthening routine health information systems and accelerating progress towards national and global #SRHR commitments.

This #WorldMentalHealthDay, let’s put people with lived experience at the heart of mental health care. In #Rwanda and beyond, we must strengthen community-based services, protect dignity and rights, and ensure everyone can access the support they need.
#MentalHealth
It's #WorldMentalHealthDay
Nearly 1 in 7 people live with a #MentalHealth condition.
People with lived experience can help transform mental health care at every stage: from designing services to delivering and improving them.
By collaborating and working together, experts with lived experience, and people working in mental health systems, policy, and research can design care that is person-centred, rights-based and rooted in dignity.
Make community-based services stronger, support continuity of care and make every conversation count bit.ly/4yJjvBc

“Digital health innovation is not measured by how impressiveness the technology is but how it improves people’s health. Innovators must design for interoperability&scale, protect data privacy&build solutions that health systems can sustain” said @WHORwanda Rep Dr @BrianChirombo
At today’s #AHTSat5 roundtable on Digital Public Infrastructure for Health, the discussion centred on a critical question: how can promising digital health innovations move beyond pilots and become part of national health systems?
Today @ #AHTSat5, WHO is convening a roundtable on Digital Public Infrastructure for Health - bringing together government, innovators &entrepreneurs to explore how digital foundations can help health innovations interoperate, scale & deliver impact

Day 1 of #AHTSat5 set the tone: bold ideas, strong partnerships & a shared commitment to action.
At @WHO, we’re committed to working with countries & partners to turn tech innovation into health impact—and build health systems that work better for the people they serve. 🌍
Kigali came alive for Day 1 of #AHTSat5.
More than 5,600 delegates gathered with one shared purpose: to shape health systems that are intelligent, connected and capable of delivering wellness for all.
The opening ceremony marked five years of the @AfricaHTSummit and five years of building a community that now brings together ministers, health leaders, innovators, investors, implementers and partners from across Africa and beyond.
Throughout the day, one question sharpened every conversation: Does the innovation work for the people who need it most?
From AI and health data to financing, workforce development, medical equipment and digital infrastructure, the focus was firmly on implementation. Solutions must respond to African realities, strengthen public systems, earn trust and reach people wherever they are.
The exhibition brought that ambition to life, while the conversations in the rooms made the next step clear: move from pilots to scale, from fragmented tools to connected systems, and from promising ideas to measurable health impact.
We closed Day 1 celebrating the culture, creativity and connections that make this community powerful.
Five years brought us here. The work we do now will define what comes next.

Addressing the #AHTSat5 Opening Ceremony, Prof. Mohamed Yakub Janabi, @WHO Regional Director for Africa, called for Africa’s digital health transformation to be designed with Africans, governed by Africans and built for African realities.
He challenged governments to create the right conditions, innovators to solve real health problems, investors to take proven solutions beyond the pilot stage, and partners to align behind national priorities.
