Because I was the kid who hated PE, afraid of the ball for years. I knew the book would be good, I bought it and it sat on my dresser all year. And then I got an ARC of TOP STORY (Sept '23!!) and it looks amazing. So I dived in this week, facing my fear...2/5

Real talk, parents: the minute we start banning books, we’ve lost. How can our kids possibly look to us to be the source of courage if we’re afraid of children’s books? 😅 We need to be the person our kids can come and talk to about ANYTHING. #FinallySeen #OutIn7Days @SimonKIDS

One more suggestion for advocacy- if you are reluctant to speak at a board meeting, make an apptment with local principal or superintendent. Have a conversation about why this matters to your kids. These personal civil conversations can inform & move the needle toward #FReadom.

Every book is for a reader, but not every book is for every reader.
Books might make you uncomfortable, & it’s ok to put it down/never finish it.
YOUR discomfort doesn’t means no one should read the book.
