Trick or tree-t!
Got a spooky stump or a tree limb that’s giving a haunted forest? Don’t let it scare you! The West Seattle Tool Library has chainsaws you can borrow to tackle those tree-mendous yard projects.
Stay safe and have a tree-rific Halloween!
Thanks to Seattle City Councilmember Rob Saka @CMRobSaka for stopping by the West Seattle Tool Library! We appreciated the chance to show him around, answer questions, and share how West Seattle neighbors support one another through tools, knowledge, and community.

Seattle rain is here!
When using power tools outdoors, keep tools, cords, and electrical connections dry, and always use GFCI protection. Never use tools that are wet or damaged.
Stay safe, and when the weather gets too wet, take a rain check!
We’re excited to share that the West Seattle Tool Library has received a $1,000 Neighborhood Grant from The Starbucks Foundation!
Thank you, @Starbucks, for recognizing our work and helping us put more tools, skills, and resources into the hands of our neighbors.
Fall is in the air—and apples are everywhere!
Got an apple tree that’s working overtime? Turn that fall harvest into fresh homemade cider with a cider press from the West Seattle Tool Library!

Rainy season is almost here! Now’s a great time to clean those gutters, clear leaves and debris, check for leaks, and make sure your home is ready for wet weather.
Need a ladder, shop vac, caulk gun, or other tool? Check WSTL before heading to the hardware store!
Meet Toby. He's been teaching our milling class for 4 months and loves helping others get comfortable with tools. Outside WSTL, he runs a construction company, coaches Little League, fishes, and enjoys time with his pets.
Thanks, Toby, for sharing your skills with our community!
We received a special member testimonial this month:
"We sanded and refinished the existing cabinets, installed new LVP flooring, brand new trim/baseboards, new countertops... without you guys we would have been buying these tools that we definitely didn't need to have full time"
Ever been curious about 3D printing but not sure where to start?
We’re thinking about putting together a beginner 3D printing class and wanted to see if anyone would be interested. Or what other tools, skills or projects would you like to learn about? Let us know in the comments!
Did you know WSTL offers fun, hands-on classes? Learn to sharpen your own tools or try our beginner-friendly crochet class while making a simple bookmark. Two great ways to learn a new skill and meet fellow makers!

Meet Jenny, a WSTL’s board member!
Jenny focuses on fundraising to bring new tools, programs & services to our community.
She found WSTL after accidentally damaging a treasured telegraph key belonging to her late father.
WSTL helped repair it!
Thanks, Jenny, for all you do!💚
Got a project in mind but missing the right tool or not sure where to start? West Seattle Tool Library (wstools.org/) is always here to help!
Get ready for the new school year with a few DIY tasks: tune up a bike, repaire lunch boxes and backpacks, or add a simple hook or organizer.
Not sure where to start? Drop in during a fix-it session and ask our volunteers for advice. We’re happy to help!
Summer projects often mean more time on a ladder—whether you're painting, cleaning gutters, trimming branches, or harvesting fruit from trees.
Always maintain three points of contact while climbing: two feet and one hand. It helps keep you stable and reduces the risk of falls.
We're excited to share that the WSTL has received a ReThink Waste Grant from @SeattleSPU and @WasteManagement!
It will help us expand our Fix-It sessions, maintain and repair tools, and keep useful items out of the landfill.
Thank you all for making this work possible.
