State leaders in Georgia have long directed TANF $ away from cash support to families in poverty. This latest development shows the state has extended that funding far beyond what TANF $ can be used for. atlantanewsfirst.com/2026/10…

It cannot be overstated how much red tape Republicans added to the process of getting Medicaid and SNAP. Millions of people who literally qualify for these programs are being kicked off them, despite qualifying, because of all the red tape Grassley voted to add to them.

We used to have a federal survey that measured hunger in America, but the Trump administration stopped conducting the survey right after the bill that cut food assistance was passed.
We are seeing a hunger disaster unrolling before our eyes. Since the GOP passed the Big Beautiful Bill, 2 million kids have lost food assistance. These are by far the deepest SNAP cuts in history, and each month, we find out it’s worse than we thought. The worst is yet to come.

Americans are right to be outraged about corporations paying too little in taxes. Corporate tax revenue dropped by roughly $70 billion over the past year while corporate profits soared. Trump's 2025 tax cuts for the rich have fueled that. nytimes.com/2026/10/17/busin…

This is a silly argument that ignores differences in scale and scope between Hope and public education. Public schools serve 10x as many students and provides transportation, meals, books, special education services, & certified teachers, none of which Hope providers must do.
Replying to @wvu999
Hope doesn’t cost $4B annually like the public education system, 20% of the districts for which are under state takeover due to offenses ranging from actual criminal fraud to wanton fiscal mismanagement.
