Our study in #DOTE on the value of mean nocturnal baseline impedance (#MNBI) on pH-impedance for laryngopharyngeal reflux disease (#LPRD). - Lower MNBI correlated with increased pharyngeal reflux - MNBI <1017 ohms showed high specificity for increased pharyngeal reflux events #BWHMotility
🔔📘New publication from #DOTE: Mean nocturnal baseline impedance predicts increased pharyngeal reflux on hypopharyngeal-esophageal pH-impedance monitoring in patients with laryngopharyngeal symptoms 🔗to article: doi.org/10.1093/dote/doag097 #esophagus #LPRD #MNBI @ISDE_net

Thank you to @AmCollegeGastro for entrusting me with this opportunity to lead #CTG as the next Editor-in-Chief. I'm honored and excited for this new challenge and responsibility. Becoming Editor of a scientific journal was not something remotely imaginable when I began my medical journey all those years ago. It's with some luck and lots of help from everyone around me that I get to experience these incredible opportunities. I am grateful to my family, mentors, colleagues, mentees, and friends for the support over the years 🫶 Ready to dive in head first into this new endeavor💪 #girdyourloin #thatsall
Congratulations to @WalterChanMD, MPH, FACG, on his appointment as Clinical & Translational Gastroenterology EIC! Dr. Chan is Director of both the Center for GI Motility and Clinical Research Education at @BrighamGI and Associate Professor of Medicine at @harvardmed.

Had another great AFS @ForegutSociety Annual Meeting, with the opportunity to speak about eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) diagnostic updates, EndoFLIP performance & interpretation, and a newly FDA-approved anti-reflux device. It's always fun to share the stage w/ surgical colleagues and discuss clinical cases & controversies. Look forward to the planning of the next edition!

Honored to join the Japan Foregut Society (JFS) annual meeting as guest speaker in Tokyo🇯🇵 to discuss the modern approach to laryngopharyngeal reflux disease. It was amazing to see old friends and meet new ones - including many whose work I've read/quoted over the years. Thank you for the kind invitation, hospitality, and friendship. Leaving inspired & excited for further collaborations!

Had a wonderful time at #ISDE2026 in Kyoto🇯🇵 to speak about extraesophageal #GERD & reflux therapies, participate in multidisciplinary case panel, and judge research proposals for Young ISDE's "Dragon's Den". Really enjoyed the great sessions & engaging discussions, both in and outside the lecture hall. Best part of all was getting to see friends & colleagues from around the world❤️

Had an incredible time earlier this month in Shanghai speaking at the first DGBI Train-the-Trainor symposium in China 🇨🇳, jointly hosted by the Chinese Society of Gastroenterology, Asian Neurogastroenterology and Motility Association, and the Rome Foundation. Thank you to my friends & colleagues in China for the hospitality and a superbly organized meeting, with great discussions and exchanges. It was also amazing getting to tour the Ruijin Hospital GI & endoscopy unit (with its team of endoscope-transporting robots 🤖).

Honored to serve as Co-President of the OESO 17th World Conference. Thank you to everyone on the @_OESO_ Board/organizing committee and all my friends & colleagues from around the world who made this a truly memorable event in beautiful Versailles🇫🇷 Planning & organizing an international meeting of this size was never going to be easy. However, the weekly meetings, late nights, and stressful moments were well worth it with the lively, interactive scientific sessions, collaborations, education, and mentorship that took place over four days at the conference. One new program of which I was particularly proud to introduce was the inaugural OESO Trainee Program, which supported 15 promising trainees to attend OESO and participate in dedicated educational & mentorship programs. It was fulfilling to see talented trainees from around the world (Asia, Europe, N. America, S. America) to come together, learn, make connections and foster friendships. Education & mentorship have always been a priority to me, and I was excited to introduce this new program to #OESO2026 Leaving Versailles inspired and with my ❤️ full. Thank you all for joining us and for the support & memories 🫶
