Quick public service announcement from me. I am NOT a source of information. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Everything I post is just my personal opinion, my half-baked take, or me yelling at the clouds. I will almost certainly be wrong about something (probably multiple things). That’s basically guaranteed. I do this purely for fun, debate, and because I’m bored on the sofa (thanks to the injury). No grand plans, no podcast ambitions, no clout-chasing, no “building a brand.” Just debates and occasional regret in the replies. So argue with me, roast me, or laugh along — but please don’t quote me in an argument or as proof of facts like I’m some kind of authority. I’m basically just a person with opinions and Wi-Fi. Carry on! 😂❤️

🚨Watch this. Drug driver Arron Straughair, 36, ploughed a Transit van into a family home in Easington Lane, Sunderland. He had a cocaine breakdown product in his system and no insurance. A grandad was knocked off his feet in his own living room. His granddaughter usually plays in the corner the van came through. Repairs are estimated at up to £90,000, and the family had to move out. He pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, drug driving and driving with no insurance. His sentence was 16 months, suspended for two years, with probation and a four-year driving ban. The judge cited his job, his family and his "good prospect of rehabilitation". She also said "lives are shattered every single day" by bad drivers. This family's nearly was, and he's still going home. I've knocked on doors after crashes like this. Suspended sentences don't stop the next one.

🚨Starmer has been named a core participant in the national grooming gangs inquiry. Good. He was Director of Public Prosecutions from 2008 to 2013. In 2009, on his watch, a CPS lawyer refused to charge the Rochdale gang. The lawyer said the girl "would not be viewed as a credible witness by a jury". That was reversed in 2011, and nine men were convicted in 2012. In 2013 Starmer admitted that victims had been treated "overcautiously" and changed the guidance. Lessons learned while girls were being raped. I was in the job. Fear of the label let girls down. The man at the top of prosecutions back then belongs in that witness box.

Trump says Iran is faking hits and mines to push oil prices up before the midterms. The hits are real. The US's own Central Command blamed an Iranian projectile for a tanker that later sank. It's Iran's claims about mines that nobody has backed up. He also says more oil now goes through Hormuz than before the war. It doesn't. Shipping data puts it at about 82% of pre-war levels. And 75,000 dead protesters? He gave no source. The best verified count is around 7,000, and even the highest estimates are about 30,000 to 36,500. Iran's regime is brutal. It doesn't need exaggerating.

👇@FraserNelson is measuring the “collapse in crime” from the mid-90s peak — the worst point after a long rise, heavily driven by the heroin epidemic. Of course it looks better from there. Year on year it hasn’t dropped. CSEW violence is flat. Police figures are mixed. Sexual offences are up 4%, rape up 2%, stalking and harassment up 3%. The long-term survey fall is real, but he’s deliberately starting from the high of a drug-fuelled peak while ignoring categories that are still rising.
The collapse in violent crime over three decades has been one of the most striking developments of my lifetime. News is about what’s going wrong, and rightly so. But the bigger picture also matters From today’s figures:-

Welcome to the EU. Riots in France. Then Milan, Bologna and Turin. The Duomo fire, shops looted on Corso Vittorio Emanuele, and 500 troops sent onto the streets of Milan. And no, before anyone asks, it's not AI. It's real footage from last weekend. Meloni calls them "hooligans who exploit demonstrations". At least she's calling it what it is. We should be paying attention.

Natasha Irons MP was on BBC Politics Live this morning blaming “years of Conservative failure” for nearly 1 million young people out of work or training. You’ve been in power for two years. At what point do you stop blaming everyone else? Youth unemployment has risen under Labour. More lies and smoke and mirrors — don’t look at us, look at them politics. No wonder nothing ever gets done. 🙄

Four months. That's what Behailu Naedw got for sexually assaulting a woman in Dyserth, north Wales. He only left when a passing motorist stopped. He has 10 previous offences. The Daily Mail says he's "set to be deported". The judge said he has no power to order it. He says he's from Eritrea (he's also claimed to be Ethiopian). He's dropped his asylum claim and says he wants to go. The hold-up is getting Eritrea to take him. Eritrea stopped accepting returns in March. The Telegraph says just 106 refused Eritrean asylum seekers were removed in four years. Plenty of foreign offenders said to be "set to be deported" are still here years later. So a simple question, @ShabanaMahmood. Will he actually be on a plane, yes or no?

France has had riots, looting, and a historic town hall in Limoges set on fire. So what did a Green cabinet member in Hackney take from it? Cllr Florence Schechter, Hackney's Cabinet Member for Finance, posted: "inspired by the protests in france? we have our own protest in the UK the day before the autumn budget is announced" Inspired. Of all the weeks to pick that word. To be fair, she says encouraging people inspired by protests is not an endorsement of violence, according to GB News. Agreed. A peaceful march is not a riot. So why mention France at all?

Not good enough. Government’s big plan is to take away prison privileges for 84 days, stick them in solitary for 21 days, and cut their visits. Just drag them to the dock. Restrain them if they kick off. No more hiding.

How’s that diversity working out, then? Yeah, thought so the slogan sounds better than the reality Sadiq Khan. Just another day in paradise, if paradise has gone bankrupt. 🇬🇧 At this point, I’m not living through 2026, I’m serving a sentence. 😂

Dave’s final thoughts of the night.. Labour, about the Channel. You've got this under control, right? Your own Border Security Commander, Maj Gen Duncan Capps, told MPs today that almost 3,800 people are in the camps between Calais and Dunkirk. Normally it's about 2,000. One boat this year carried 230 people. Since 2018, about 5% of arrivals have been returned. And his warning: "only a matter of time until we have a mass casualty event in the Channel." But it's all under control. Right? Right?

Thank you Sammy. ♥️
A Personal Statement Regarding the Rape Gang Inquiry. I would like to announce that I will no longer be working alongside MP Rupert Lowe and his team as lead on the Rape Gang Inquiry. Firstly, I would like to thank Rupert for launching the inquiry and ensuring that the findings were published for the world to see. I would also like to thank everyone who generously donated to make the inquiry possible. But most importantly, my heartfelt thanks go to the survivors, family members, professionals and whistleblowers who came forward, shared their experiences and provided vital evidence. Without you, none of this would have been possible. Together, we have helped expose the horrific abuse, exploitation and institutional failures that have taken place across our country for decades, raising awareness and presenting evidence on a global scale. Your bravery, strength and courage never fail to amaze me. I know how difficult it has been for so many of you to speak out. It has been an absolute honour and privilege to work alongside each and every one of you. Although my time working on the inquiry has come to an end, my fight to protect children, expose government corruption and hold those responsible to account will continue. I wish Rupert and all the participants the very best as they move forward with private prosecutions. Thank you.

Five years ago Sir David Amess was stabbed to death at his constituency surgery in Leigh-on-Sea while doing his job. Days after the anniversary, a man filmed himself appearing to spit on his statue on Southend seafront three times and posted it online. "Voted for the Iraq war. Shame." My community was deeply affected by the murder of Jo Cox. She was killed in Birstall in June 2016 as she arrived for her constituency surgery. A political murder doesn't stop with one family. It hits a whole town, every MP who still holds open surgeries, and every constituent who walks in to ask for help. That statue is Southend saying it won't be cowed. So he filmed himself, posted it, then said in the comments it wasn't him. Brave stuff. Over to Essex Police.

Insane footage!
The footage emerging from a jewellery shop in Lyon, France, is absolutely extraordinary. Windows smashed. Display cases destroyed. Jewellery stolen. A business left devastated. This has nothing to do with school protests. Nothing to do with the cost of living. This is criminality, pure and simple. We are watching Europe's once high trust societies erode before our very eyes.

Trump on the Jackdaw approval: ' They should go FULL BLAST!!!' He thinks it's oil (it's gas), and the caps lock speaks for itself, but he's got a point. Our own production covers less than half our gas demand, and the rest is piped from Norway or shipped in as LNG, much of it from the US. Drill it. Video - @TalkTV

Riots across France. Police 'lost control' in some cities, according to the interior minister, who offered to resign. Curfews in Paris. The BBC reports nearly 150 people jailed, and troops are expected on the streets this Saturday. Where's Macron? In Doha, telling reporters the real problem is 'manipulation of information', AI fakes and 'stupid' comments from foreign leaders. When police lose control of the streets, that's a failure of leadership at home, not a social media problem. Blaming other people's comments won't put the fires out.
