Well done to fire crews who worked through the night. Large hotel fire in Torbay requiring evacuation of almost one hundred guests. Breathing apparatus crews dealt with a serious fire and search and rescue operation. Thank you incident commander @robcude @DSFireUpdates

As the nation mourns, today we also remember the 2,977 lives lost in the devastating terrorist attacks on America Amongst those, we pay tribute to the 412 first responders - including 343 firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty 21 years ago #NeverForget #911Memorial

It’s warm now, but as the seasons change and you think about warming your homes please make sure you get your chimney swept before using it.
The weather might still be warm, but autumn is around the corner which means you might want to think about heating. We recommend you have your chimney swept before the first fire, to reduce your risk of chimney fires. Book yours now before the chimney sweeps get busy! #CFSW2022

What can you do to help reduce the risk of wildfires? Some retailers have stopped selling disposable BBQ’s. My view is disposable BBQ’s should be banned. We have seen far too many wildfires this year caused by disposable BBQ’s.
In July this year, Fire Control answered over 400 calls about small fires in the open, with 114 for one incident alone! This compares to 150 calls received in July 2021. As the hot weather continues see our advice on reducing the risk of wildfires. orlo.uk/Reducing_wilfires_AB…

Love the sun, but please be careful, watch out for sun burn, and be water aware.
Parents are being warned to limit children's exposure to the sun as a heatwave is set to push temperatures above 30C (86F) across parts of the UK. A heat-health alert has been issued for the majority of the country with the mercury set to remain "consistently high" next week 😎

Dangerous overtaking kills. Don’t overtake unless there is clear line of site and the road is designed for it. Brow of a hill is fatal.
