This report omits ‘woman’ & ‘mother’ & ’breastfeeding’ to allow phrases like ’lactation choices’ & insults the *mothers* of stillborn infants donating their breastmilk to other *mothers* whose babies need it. Why? To pretend ‘genderID’ is more important. nitter.gq/jan_murray/status/2101…

This is the guy who promotes ‘lactation for kinksters’…inc men. Watch the whole thread of revealing clips. It‘s a cringefest .
JACOB ENGELSMAN Q&A - 🧵 of clips I want everyone to pay attention to his demeanour and laughter throughout. This is a non-serious person. He is dismissive, arrogant, and utterly clueless. In this first clip, after nearly a full minute of inappropriately laughing and starring off to the side while he tries to come up with an answer, he finally concludes that the best tip he can offer is to tell people that at some point they are going to feel like feeding their infant is extremely dull and banal. Of the countless unexpected challenges that came with breastfeeding my four babies, getting bored of it was never something that crossed my mind. Babies are not dolls that you cast aside when you get bored. Nourishing them from your own body is not a bit of pretend play that you loose interest in. Because mothers, real mothers, understand that it's not about us. It's always about our babies.

Objections or challenges to men trying to breastfeed brings about exclusion - even from mothers in an organisation dedicated to supporting other mothers to breastfeed. 🤷‍♀️
Some yrs ago I presented to @DeclarationOn about the @AssnBFMothers which quietly promotes male lactation. IMO if the ABM is willing to defend a cult which harms women and children then I will name names. Link in the first comment #sexmatters #onlywomenbreastfeed

Good move - scrutiny of this publicly-funded venture is vital. It’s not only about the safety of ‘male milk’; there are other serious safeguarding concerns. Males - however they ID - trying to breastfeed? That‘s abuse of the baby, & the mother.
In relation to the male "lactation" story I've lodged three FOI requests with the Scottish Government, NHS Lothian and Edinburgh IJB about funding and clinical guidance. I would also love some input from clinicians/lactation consultants about this practise. 20 days and counting.

Public money supports an Edinburgh ‘Queer Milk’ group which offers help to men trying to breastfeed. Every baby has a mother. Her choice to breastfeed is undermined/erased by a man trying to do it - this is fetish, funded by taxes, using helpless babies as props. Yes, sickening.
thetimes.com/uk/scotland/art… Susan Smith, a director of @ForWomenScot said the fact the group was “actively and openly encouraging the sinister idea that men can breastfeed, using public money, will rightly sicken taxpayers” It is astonishing that public money is funding “Queer Milk” while the needs of the child are treated as an afterthought. Biological males cannot produce the milk a baby needs to develop healthily. Infants are not props for adult identity. When organisations put ideology first and the child second, they have failed in their most basic duty. What ever happened to safeguarding and do no harm?

The Amos report into UK maternity services has flaws. Its use of ’women & birthing people’ thru’out is a further one. Confusing ‘additive language’ (they’re *all* women🙄) breaks the link between ‘not listening to women’ & the *sexism* of not listening. matneoinv.org.uk/wp-content/…

Correction: it’s the English maternity services, of course. Not the whole of the UK…..however, we‘d be a-mazed if any Scots, Welsh & Northern Irish reports were any less captured by this lingo.

Here we go again🙄Because some men, with enough drugs, can make a tiny amount of breast secretion, it’s ‘safe’ for them to play mummy & breastfeed. The same mendacious ‘case studies’ are presented as ’science’, using babies as identity validation. Gross. nitter.gq/rejserin/status/207042…

Babies, eh? Even after millennia, they still need *mum* to prioritise their needs for love, milk & closeness, how very dare they😱 One boffin publishes, saying it’s outrageous, & argues for ‘gestators’ (ffs) to focus on ’gender justice’ in ‘lactation’. 🤯 onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…

Are newborns blank slates? Does it matter to them from whom the oocyte for their conception came or who gestated and birthed them? Using research from adoption, donor conception and surrogacy, this paper argues for consideration of the child's experience in surrogacy language.
