BREAKING: Hurricane Hunters just measured an almost unbelievable 889 mb pressure inside Hurricane Polo.
If that reading is confirmed, Polo would become the second strongest hurricane ever recorded in the eastern Pacific, behind only Hurricane Patricia in 2015.
What makes this even more remarkable is how quickly Polo got here. The storm has intensified at an extraordinary rate, being only a tropical storm 24 hours ago.
An 889 mb pressure is an exceptionally rare number in the eastern Pacific, putting Polo into truly historic territory.
We are watching one of the strongest Pacific hurricanes ever observed unfold in real time.

Bijna alle Turken, Marokkanen, Irakezen en Somaliërs met wie ik in de jaren ’90 en ’00 in de klas heb gezeten, spreken abominabel Nederlands. Dat komt mede doordat ze destijds onderling geen Nederlands spraken, geen Nederlandse tv keken, geen Nederlandse boeken of kranten lazen en hun ouders evenmin Nederlands spraken. Dat was zo toen ik bij hen in de klas zat en is nog steeds zo nu ze volwassen zijn. Hetzelfde geldt voor hun kinderen die nu op school zitten en als halve analfabeten van school komen.
En omdat we niet durven te HANDHAVEN en af te DWINGEN dat leerlingen in de klas Nederlands spreken, gaan we nu ineens doen alsof het goed is dat ze daar gewoon hun moedertaal spreken?
Dit is echt zo bizar.

In Iran, I was told: wear the hijab or be kicked out of school. Resist, and you can be arrested, beaten, lashed, or imprisoned, or killed it in the hand of morality Police.
Then I came to the West and was told: be careful telling your story, it might cause “Islamophobia.”
I am a woman from the Middle East. I have lived under Islamist ideology. I have every right to fear it, criticize it, and speak about it.
Don’t silence us in the name of tolerance. Let us talk.
To those who say "it's her choice" I used to say the same thing about my own Hijab.
I was covered head to toe. Even on the beach. Even with my male relatives. And when people challenged me, I said: this is my choice. You know why? Because the other option was burning in hell, hung by my hair for eternity. That's what they taught me since childhood.
Yes, let me repeat it for you to just understand about our version of “freedom of choice.” I grew up in an Islamist culture that gave me two options. Cover yourself and go to heaven. Or don't cover, and be hanged by your hair and burned in hell.
Like when someone puts a gun to your head and says "you can go left or right", technically, yes, that's a choice.
I picked heaven. I called it freedom. And I believed it, because that's what happens when fear is all you've ever known.
And if you think I shouldn't be telling you my story, I don't care. I really, genuinely, from the bottom of my heart, don't care. The women still living under that "choice"? I care about them.

➡️ Le rouge apparait lorsque les températures sont supérieures aux normales, le bleu lorsqu’elles sont inférieures.
➡️ Comme les périodes plus chaudes que la normale sont devenues majoritaires ces dernières années, les cartes affichent plus souvent du rouge.

De Euro is voor alle Eurolanden hetzelfde, maar de koopkracht ervan niet.
Nederland eindigde in 2025 op index 52. De slechtste van de hele Eurozone, behalve de Baltische staten die hun valuta moesten stabiliseren na de Sovjet-Unie.
En dat terwijl Nederlanders:
→ de langste werkweek hebben van de eurozone
→ de hoogste brandstofprijzen van de EU betalen
→ tot de zwaarst belaste energiegebruikers ter wereld behoren
Je werkt meer, betaalt meer voor energie en brandstof en toch vreet de inflatie je Euro harder op dan waar ook in de eurozone.
De grafiek liegt niet. Wij doen het structureel slechter dan onze buren.
