Had an issue with my @Delta upgrade so I went to the @flyPBI check-in counter. The attendant Tiffany who helped me was the epitome of efficiency and kindness. Just wanted to give her a shout out!

Yeah, I was with @mdpax when this happened. The @ATLairport @Delta employee did not just give wrong information but was also incredibly dismissive and callous. When we tried to check-in, another person apparently had been given the same misinformation but had managed to ... (1/2)
1/ With international travel beginning to open up, I thought I'd share my recent unfortunate experience with @Delta. I booked my initial flight DL4365 to London for a new job on April 20th through the Delta website.

... get a rapid test and politely asked if he could help her check in, as her flight was leaving in an hour. The @delta person scowled and said that she was very late and he wasn't sure what he could do for her. Overall, this was a very upsetting experience. (2/2)

BF just got an e-mail from @UGAHealthCenter to get the vaccine, yet he is at a lower risk than I. I have been teaching f2f for the entire semester yet am not considered higher risk. Thanks @uga and @BORUSG for once again showing how little you appreciate your TAs/instructors.

One of my students just referred to a hockey stick/spreader as a smear bar, and spread plating as sweeping. I'm not sure if I should deduct points or give bonus points for this 🤣 from now on it will always be a smear bar. #ScienceTwitter #microbiology #STEMeducation #teaching

I'm the vi-author of this survey and am very proud! Had a good first round of responses, just need to keep the momentum going! 😅

Dr. Olivia Thompson became interested in science while watching the show “Zoom” as a child and recreating from the show with her siblings. It is because of this  experience  that Dr. Thompson  especially  values science outreach for kids #BlackHistoryMonth (1/3) – at Athens, GA

Today my mom called from Germany about something she heard on the news. 2 US scientists won the Paul Ehrlich and Ludwig Darmstaedter Prize for Microbiology. I was very proud to tell her that I met Dr.Bassler after one of her talks. My mom now has news related bragging rights

Just wanted to share this. So went to get my phlebotomy (basically blood donation but they throw out the blood) this morning and this is the #medicalbill I got from @PiedmontHealth. Can someone explain to me how a phlebotomy could cost almost $3000? I have insurance and (1/3)

(2/3) I "only" need to cover $171 which @PiedmontHealth will do a payment plan 4. However,it's still $$$. I have hereditary haemochromatosis (iron overload which is the opposite of anemia) and need this treatment regularly.

(3/3) I have paid vastly different amounts in the past, and had varying experiences (including at a dif. 🏥 where it was done in the phlebotomists office, where ~100 stuffed animals surrounded me 😬) but this bill takes the cake. Wtf? @RealDoctorMike @choo_ek @DrRichBesser

@UGAHealthCenter @UGAMarketing I’ve noticed UGA is tryin to get more people to do surveilance testing, which is great! Many of my peers are hesitant to do it though as they think it’ll be a big hastle/time intensive. Same for faculty I think. So I’ve had an idea... (1/2)

Campus is safest if everyone gets tested regularly. But if people dont do it coz they think its this long process, why not show them how easy it is. How about a video showing @UGAHairyDawg going through the whole process, registration n all? A tested dawg is a healthy dawg (2/2)
