I showcase how real people are fixing real problems - in code, in policy, in their communities. Canadian. Weird about it. Also a Bard

If everyone who disagrees with you becomes the enemy, who's left? Twenty years of friendship. One different opinion. Suddenly, all that history counts for nothing. The number gets blocked. The calls go unanswered. The people around you are expected to pick a side. There is a difference between disagreeing with someone and trying to hurt them. Losing that distinction makes it easy to feel righteous while treating someone cruelly. But underneath the anger is the part that hurts most. You miss your friend. Dead to You by The Weird Canadian. The argument ended. The silence didn't.

AI is choosing who gets hacked next. One SIM swap and a stranger can reset every account tied to your phone number. Mark Kreitzman is General Manager at Efani, the secure mobile carrier he helped build after his own number was SIM swapped. Before Efani he held leadership roles in security at OpenDNS, Mobolize and Lattice Security, and lately he builds his own AI tools that scan company domains for the gaps attackers hunt for. Attackers don't need a famous target anymore. Mark shows how a $7 a month server and a few scripts can scan thousands of companies overnight and rank the easiest to break into, and why, in his scans, the companies you trust with your data keep failing the basics, from email spoofing to forgotten staging domains. If you run a business, some of the fixes are settings you can switch on today. We also get into the store employee who handed his number to a stranger, why he says carriers accept a little SIM swap fraud, data deletion companies that play both sides, browser fingerprinting, why he thinks AI means privacy is dead, and how to set up a secure phone with GrapheneOS. I actually prefer the terminal 😅 I don't need some fancy interface to do my work
It is insane to me that there are still devs using terminals to prompt their agents

Based on @_agentweb post, does it not just make sense to allow agents to hit the APIs direct? On top of having a website you can redirect the agent traffic to purely access your API? 🤔 Then by that thought, the concept of backend-for-frontend structure becomes a more apparent gatekeeping relay

So essentially, you just go straight to the Swagger page and use that as your operational control? 😅
Introducing AgentWeb: reliable web infrastructure for generalized agents. 47/47 real world tasks on live sites. 1.9s median. $3 total. Request access: agentweb.us

There seems to be technical difficulties with today's video. Trying to get it fixed right now

Does anybody have a spare $60 million I can borrow? 😅
An IT company has listed a 300-rack AI supercomputer on eBay for $60 million with $50 overnight shipping It includes over 9,000 Nvidia A100 GPUs

The best thing people can do with AI right now is run their own harnesses and control what data gets sent to specific AIs. These companies have built a great product but they are controlling your data. The more you can move to your own and control your data, the better positioned you will be for the future because your data is the new moat

Did you know you feed AI all your bills and ask it to help you budget them, how to cut back, and where you can get a better deal?

I don't trust governments.....full stop. Why is that so hard for people to understand.

Wes Kussmaul's take: people in the U.S. are saying government must set up guardrails. Which government? The government of 5% of Earth's population? Tell me how you're going to get a developer in Indonesia to obey a law enacted by the US Congress.

We apparently need to be let down gently 😂 "ever closer association"
🚨 BREAKING: EU countries have dropped the idea of offering Canada "associate member" status in the 27-member bloc, opting instead for softer language promising "ever closer association," according to a draft statement, seen by POLITICO. Full story: vist.ly/5qd4s

So they're taking on the up-high? not even the down-low? 😅 We just operate knowing full well corruption is happening and nobody seems to care
Up to 200 staff at feds'  Major Projects Office are on half pay from unnamed corporations without @EthicsCanada vetting: 'Is this out of the goodness of their heart?' asked MP @BrandenCPC.  blacklocks.ca/runs-on-the-ho… #cdnpoli

"If someone doesn't write a cover letter, we simply discard them immediately" "You clicked on 50 buttons. You clicked on 50 submissions with standard text" "If you send a message to five or six people who work at the company, especially those in HR, they'll probably answer" How to stand out when job hunting without a current position.

The conversations I am privileged to be able to have with experts in the industries continually astound me on what's coming to the world 😯 These people always emphasize that they feel so far behind, yet so far ahead and it just solidifies my understanding that the next 5 to 10 years are going to amaze people in ways they can't even imagine right now

So how many does it actually feed? I think the public should hear the real numbers
Cabinet’s claim to feed 400,000 children through National School Food Program is false, according to figures submitted to MPs. Gov’t and #cdnmedia have repeated claim though documents show figure is unfounded. blacklocks.ca/fed-school-foo… @BreakfastCanada @MartyDeacon1 @SenateCA #cdnpoli

Must be hard to come up with your own views, and sound smart about them, eh @DimitrisSoudas? 😆
‼️ NOT PARODY: Political communications “expert” asks AI to make him sound intelligent, accidentally publishes evidence to the contrary.

The reason we can't build anything: so many bills are like, oh, no more pipelines. But if you read the bill, it has a bunch of things in it that have nothing to do with the overall title. And you're debating over a title that means absolutely nothing.
