I've always maintained that most guys don’t need more clothes, they just need a better system.
So I put together a simple framework to evaluate, edit, and curate your wardrobe, making the process of getting dressed enjoyable.

Ever wonder why polyester and engineered fabrics have a weird smell to them after working out?
You are not alone.
Here's a study on the Microbial Odor Profile of Polyester vs Cotton Clothes after a Fitness Session👇
Sweat soaked cotton just smells better (or is less unpleasant) than polyester.
Or as the researchers put it, "This research showed that polyester clothes create a significantly higher malodor compared to cotton clothing after a fitness session and an incubation period."
I had a reader ask me what my running kit or gym kit is looking like these days.
Best way to describe the shift I've made recently:
Natural fibers over synthetics. 👇
I'm wearing mostly cotton in the gym these days. Cotton tees, sweatshirts, cotton shorts etc. It's old school. Not as efficient but I don't care. I enjoy a sweat soaked cotton tee. It feels damn good.
I will be writing an email on some of my favorite pieces and what I look for later this week.

Style advice:
Go with a cream colored dial on your watches instead of stark white.
Even inexpensive watches look more refined/premium with a warmer, cream dial.

If you don't care for the Nike Killshot 2s - grab a pair of ASICS Skyhand OG Sneakers.
Nike Killshots = designed for racquetball and squash
ASICS Skyhand = designed for handball
Again, court style sneakers are GOATED in menswear and the best option when you need something casual, durable, and stylish to wear.

I keep telling you guys court sneakers are legit.
This is what you wear on the weekends for your low key, casual fits.
Your gym trainers belong in the gym. Your runners are for running.
Court style sneakers are what you want for the right balance of style, comfort, and utility.

Heads up - Meermin's Factory Seconds sale is now live (affiliate): ktku.co/1U7
They only ever run this sale 1x per year. Can scoop up some amazing footwear at a fraction of the cost. There is usual some kind of minor/cosmetic defect to Factory Seconds...but from my experience I've never really noticed anything major. Great deal on some quality footwear.

FYI - Meermin is completely transparent about their Factory Seconds.

Another thing to consider aesthetically:
There is something about a beat up sweatshirt or a faded cotton tee that looks right vs the shiny polyester that everyone wears in the gym.
Engineered fabrics don't break down in quite the same way as natural fibers. They lack character.
And there's just something about putting on a beat up sweatshirt that's been with you for endless runs and workouts. It sounds cheesy as hell but you develop a certain relationship or fondness for it. It becomes your "gym sweater"

To recap:
The best chinos for business casual meet the following 3 criteria:
1) Fabric (Italian)
2) Elevated Design Details (i.e. extended waist tab/three point closure)
3) Fit (classic - streamlined, neither too baggy nor too slim)
You nail these three details and you're set.

I send something out every week to help my readers look their best.
Now, whether you go with pleats or cuffs, that's up to you. Flat front and a plain hem works just as well.
But the last and most important detail (#3) is FIT.
Look for a clean, streamlined fit that is neither too baggy nor too slim.
This kind of stuff is not going to cut it👇
Now, another style that can work well is the hidden button closure (or internal hook and bar).
It'll give you a CLEAN looking waistband (which is what you want) - you can wear these without as belt as well.

2) Extend Waist Tab Closure
This is a key detail. You want the chinos to have at least a three point closure with an extended waist tab. This is the type of fastening you see on dress slacks. This will immediately gives the chinos a more polished, refined look.
Also, with the three point closure you can wear these chinos without a belt.
What are the best pair of chinos to wear for business casual fits?
Forget about brands for a second.
Here's the simple checklist you want to follow instead...
1) Fabric
Look specifically for Italian cotton (this can been in 100% or even 97-98% with some added stretch).
Italian textiles are ELITE in menswear. Italian cotton chinos will have a superior look, hand feel, and drape. And this is exactly what you want for your business casual fits.
For example, Suit Supply makes a great pair using Italian stretch cotton (affiliate): bit.ly/4dZN4WN

Here’s a simple hack to potentially enhance rectus femoris development.
Instead of performing leg extensions in the traditional upright position (90° of hip flexion), try reclining the backrest to reduce the degree of hip flexion. This places the rectus femoris at a longer muscle length, conceivably increasing passive tension and thus providing a greater stimulus for hypertrophy.
In support of this strategy, a recent study by Larsen et al. (PMID: 39699974) found that performing leg extensions at 40° versus 90° of hip flexion produced appreciably greater rectus femoris growth at both the proximal (12.4% vs. 4.6%) and distal (15.8% vs. 10.9%) regions. Alternatively, no meaningful differences were observed in vastus lateralis hypertrophy, highlighting how changes in exercise positioning can differentially affect the growth of individual quadriceps muscles.
Bottom line: Small adjustments in exercise setup can make a meaningful difference in muscle development, underscoring the importance of understanding applied anatomy to optimize hypertrophic outcomes. Sometimes, a simple change in positioning is all it takes to enhance your training stimulus.
