@TownofWhitby holding a "Whitby Proud & Canada Loud" decorating home contest... thought Id give it a try for this year's Canada Day/ Dominion Day 2025. Did a day and night look.... #WhitbyProudCanadaLoud @ElizabethJRoy @MattCardwell23 @ChrisLeahy
Biggest driving mistake tonight.. wanted to go for a nice summer walk by lake in @TownofWhitby ..I ran into a traffic disaster from cars parked on road Water St.and all parking lots..caught in traffic and thousands walking on road.. are @DRPS local politicians aware.. Event CCC.
Has @TownofWhitby hired a private security guard company to patrol Lakefront parking lots.. went for a walk to enjoy cooler weather & security patrol honking horn at truckers resting in lot.. flashing lights into cars with high beams.. knights on guard.. Heydonshore north lot.
Does @TownofWhitby have parking enforcement out..sidestreets in Whitbyshores for firework display..each year more and more vehicles on streets..Portage Breakwater Lighthouse Seclusion. Heading to display..safety issue for residents in emergency response times? Police patrols?
Saw a @DRPS cruiser speeding by lake and turning side bright white lights on to cars going through parking lot fast.. is there some police activity going on or an incident.. people down enjoying summer night for walk ?
It's been about 6 months that this yellow plastic has been stuck in these trees in front of the Durham Region Whitby water plant.. mother nature has not been able to get them out..thought maybe in front of a government building it would be handled.. @RegionofDurham @TownofWhitby
May 20, 2025 @TownofWhitby @RegionofDurham Drove by 4 months after this photo was taken, and this debris is still in the trees. If someone gives me a stick, Ill take it down.
THANK you @DRPS patrolling by the lake.. although quiet now, in the last few years parking on weekends and illegal late fireworks setting off and car racing are on the increase..a team of bylaw, police and traffic services need to address this.. safety priority @RegionofDurham
guess the municipal government of Whitby is not longer using X/Twitter to communicate with citizens? sadly many used this to get information from and to the town... they may not like who runs the company but other companies social corporates are no angels either...
After this weeks major snowfall @TownofWhitby , noticed that many residents do not clear around their fire hydrants. Who monitors these to ensure compliance and ensure in a fire emergency @WhitbyFire has quick access.. Vary rare to see cleared. Photo of 4 hydrants- 1 correct...
Winter 2025 Whitby Perspective for the
@TownofWhitby
a note to residents involves fire hydrant snow cleaning...locally this has been a issue and attempts to find HOW or WHO to report incidents seems to be a mystery.. in a fire emergency seconds count.
@WhitbyFire
Now that Snowmagedon 2025 has stopped...time for some home safety.. ensure you check your exterior exhausts/ intake exhaust pipes for your furnace, hot water heater & dryer vent and make sure not blocked. Also check you gas line/meter is uncovered. @TownofWhitby @RegionofDurham
Great to see that plows are already making it on to local side streets.. parked cars block this job to be done... Shortly after a plow went by locally, it appears ticket s are being issued to cars on the street... @TownofWhitby @RegionofDurham
February 4, 2025 Transport Driver Charged with Hitting Firetruck on High... youtu.be/-1D9ceFNXh0?si=mKmJ… via @YouTube what a surprise... glad OPP caught this person... just tickets? no arrest? breath test? time for FORD to clean the cost cutting truck companies industry
February 3, 2025 Cobourg Firetruck Struck on Hwy 401 Firefighter Rushed ... youtu.be/uHwI91bE-7o?si=adR3… via @YouTube This is becoming a regular occurrence... I avoid the 401 now and stay clear away from trucks.... unqualified have replaced the once qualified and professional.....
On way home past by Heydenshore parking lot to see if more dumping.. see this in the same spot the mattresses were.. not sure it was under them.. lazy and disrespectful ..time for @TownofWhitby start some bylaw enforcement on this site.. anyone else notice more crap everywhere?
Doing some morning photography by Lake Ontario.. parked in Heydenshore parking lot.. this is what I see. Large mattresses dumped.. last few years dumping in @TownofWhitby @RegionofDurham has increased..our taxes pay for your dumping to clean.. DO BETTER people.
