Today's #WeirdWednesday was suggested by WLD fan Jackie Webber (my lovely mum) and is the STAR NOSED MOLE, who looks like an ordinary digger except for a nose full of TENTACLES! These moles are excellent swimmers and were the first mammal proven to be able to smell underwater. – at Hackney, London

This adorable little creature is today's #WeirdWednesday and is a Chevrotain, also known as a MOUSE-DEER (v good name.) With a round body, spindly legs and long fangs, these little critters are shy and mysterious and have hardly changed in all their time on earth! – at Hackney, London

Delighted to be partnering with @TheHoxtonLDN for a drawing class on Weds 24th Jan with beautiful birds of prey. We’ll be sketching and learning about their incredible aerial hunting techniques, habitat and conservation 🦅 thehoxton.com/hoxtown/events…
Today's wintry #WeirdWednesday is one of my absolute faves – the Narwhal. Like so many tusked animals, this arctic whale has a majestic quality and it's spiralled tusk was gifted to royalty during medieval times, passed off as unicorn horn! But the tusk is actually a tooth! – at Epworth, England

Today's #WeirdWednesday is a tongue-tastic rare bear with a unique chest marking that resembles the rising sun, hence the name Sun Bear. It has a GIANT tongue that can reach up to 25cm (longest human tongue was 10cm) and feasts on an omnivorous diet of mostly insects and fruits. – at Hackney, London
