While I was striking in Windermere yesterday, demanding an end to sewage pollution, guess what was happening in Ambleside? Ambleside wastewater treatment works was discharging untreated sewage into the River Rothay. This goes into Englands largest lake which sits within a national park and @UNESCO world heritage site.
This cloudy concoction is full of everything from bacteria, viruses, parasites, to phosphorus. The water industry insists this is 95% freshwater, which, as you can see, is clearly not true. How much was released from this spill? We don’t know, as United Utilities does not collect volumetric data.
We need an end to all treated and untreated sewage discharged into Windermere.

Great to see DosaFil leading the way in inhibitor testing
👏👏👏
Inhibitor was invented around 1970, took until 2019 for companies to say you need to test for it but never offered guidance.
This is a UK first with a QR guidance for onsite engineers.

This makes me sad and angry! 2 years old, 6.44kw heatload, 8.5kw ecodan, 6x pumps on the heating system, 1x destrat pump which is the most ridiculous way of doing it I’ve ever seen.
I’ve got another survey this afternoon by the same company, I’m dreading it.

90 million spent on agency & bank staff in Nottingham over the last year. If the NHS paid & nurtured their staff better far fewer people would choose this less rewarding career path with no job stability & much less job satisfaction. Bonkers and very sad thetimes.co.uk/article/nhs-r…

Good Morning Spiners! We’ve started the day with celebratory scenes as Oliver Duncan-King receives his medal, and then offers a ring to his girlfriend, Fiona.
*spoiler alert, she said yes, but only if he never does this again.
Congratulations to both of you!

A reminder that heart rate is pretty much useless in a Houston summer.
This was for a run at 8+ min pace. Yet, my HR was in zone 3 & 4. Why? Heat and humidity. If I went by HR zones, I'd be walking...

Our first award! Proud to say that our Scottish Light has picked up a Silver medal for the Scottish region in the @SIBA01 Beer Awards. There are a very limited number of these available in our web shop and independent retailers, so if you haven’t tried it yet now’s the time!

Really quite a lot excited to be featured on the forthcoming @RhythmBrewsUK podcast and couldn't have wished for better contributors! It's the dream team. Stay tuned.
Recording done. June's episode will be a good one, with huge thanks to both @BeerOClockShow and @mjpo007 for guesting and to @STFermentations for the tasty beers. And hardly any Cummings anger tòo.
