The toy soldiers stay up well past Christmas. They were up Thursday morning, but when I returned at 9:00 pm, they had been destroyed. They were bent in half and crushed to the ground. Over the last 29 years, I can’t remember any acts of vandalism in our quiet rural neighborhood.
I hope everyone is changing their air filters on a regular basis even if they are 2” thick by 87 1/2” long.
I completed a boundary survey today. The last two corners were in a thicket along a state highway. Some previous wind has blown over a few cedar trees to make access more challenging. #mydaysurveying
My activities were watched and critiqued. Realizing I didn’t have anything for them, I loss their attention. #mydaysurveying
After crossing two fences, I was able to get to the center 1/16 corner. The tree canopy slowed down the collection process. #mydaysurveying
Finishing up my work on the section corners along this 5 lane highway. #mydaysurveying
There are blackberry vines and greenbrier in the fence lines, but don’t forget about sand plum trees. They are another obstacle to get to the accessory for a section corner. #mydaysurveying
I am setting some control points along a 5 lane highway. I may or may not need these points when I return to this site. My next visit will be at 5 am when the traffic volume will be much lower. #mydaysurveying
A corner of my boundary survey was under the canopy of trees, so I used my conventional survey equipment to check the solution of my GPS equipment. #mydaysurveying
On one of my last boundary surveys, I got to see some young calves. They were cute until their chaperone wanted to be between me and them. My work was just on the other side of a barb wire fence. #mydaysurveing
My fieldwork started out in the sunshine, but finished in the shade with fallen limbs and greenbrier. #mydaysurveying
