.@CityofWS must halt its plans to sell the Plaza Apartments! Right now, both the City and the County are serving up historic Boston Thurmond to developers on a silver platter. It's important that the City and County avoid actions that would destroy Boston's historic character.

The lesson: no matter how talented or well-intentioned they are, a person can't effectively cover East Winston while residing in Bermuda Run. It can't be done. Likewise, one can't be a newspaper publisher and a developer at the same time. You must choose one or the other.

Should the City sell the Plaza Apts, it would lead to displacement/gentrification. The Plaza Apartments would likely be razed and replaced with new market-rate housing. This would be a death knell for the historic Boston Thurmond neighborhood.
