The Hawk Tuah girl made $400 a week at a bedspring factory. Then her face went on a crypto coin that hit almost $500 million, and the FBI showed up at her grandma's door
She says she never made a dime from the coin. Today she charges $9.99 a month to message her
In the video below, she describes finding out on TikTok: "Haliey Welch is going to jail." Watch for her answer to everyone who blames her: "You really think I can do that by myself?"
June 2024. She's drinking vodka at CMA Fest in Nashville when a street interviewer asks her a bedroom question. Two days later, her answer is on every phone in America
Before that, she packed bedsprings in a small Tennessee town. "I brought home maybe $400 a week, if that"
Then it moves fast. Zach Bryan brings her on stage. She DJs with Shaq. Jake Paul's company gives her a podcast
December 2024. She launches the
$HAWK
coin. It shoots to almost $500 million. Within a day it's down to about $25 million
Coffeezilla, live on a call with her team: "one of the most miserable, horrible launches I've ever seen"
The death threats start. At the airport, a man yells at her: "Where's my money at?"
12 investors sue over the coin, saying they lost $151,000 together
The FBI knocks on her grandmother's door. The SEC keeps her phone for four days. In March 2025 she says the probe is closed and she's not charged
Her version: she got a marketing fee and it went to lawyers. "I did not make a dime for the coin itself"
February 2026. She opens a FanFix page. $9.99 a month gets you 25 messages with her
Asked if it pays as much as the factory did: "Plenty"
Do the math. Almost $500 million on paper. About $25 million a day later. Her cut, she says: zero. So where did the money go?
The case for Haliey: she was barely in her twenties, she didn't run the coin, and the SEC walked away without charging her
The case against: it was her face, her name and her videos telling fans it was live. Real people lost real money
Was the Hawk Tuah girl a scammer, or the one who got used?

Good Tuesday Morning, fellow misfits! ☕💜
A real community doesn’t just talk.
It listens.
It makes room for people to be honest.
It lets people be imperfect without treating that like a flaw.
That’s the kind of space we care about building.
If that matters to you too, come through.
