Trauma patients from more vulnerable communities die at higher rates, but this association goes away after risk adjustment. This suggests it's not due to differences in care, rather in injury lethality.Time to invest upstream to improve outcomes @PoojaNeiman journals.lww.com/jtrauma/Ful…

Replying to @JosephSakran
@JosephSakran: “The best medical treatment is often prevention.” Always inspiring. Also, you sure sound a lot like a pediatrician😉 We can #EndGunViolence together. @NorthwellHealth

1/2 - We are grieving and saddened by the recent events as our own state is added to the long list of violence emanating from long-standing structural racism.

Deep-rooted inequities harm American Indian communities in the fight against #COVID19. @DonaldWarneMD shares some of the health barriers: publichealthnewswire.org/?p=…
Extremely proud of our SoP community members working to protect the safety of healthcare workers!
Hand sanitizer is vital to our healthcare and in short supply. We are partnering with the @UWMadPharmacy to manufacture up to 350 12 oz bottles of sanitizer per day. Since starting on Sunday, they have produced over 100 gallons!

Thank you Congresswoman @AyannaPressley, we are glad to have your support and know that we can be strong partners in our mutual commitment to #EndGunViolence in America.
On this day 1 yr ago the medical community refused to be silenced by the @NRA’s egregious, dismissive “stay in your lane” tweet. I am proud to support the @ThisIsOurLane movement - a critical campaign to develop comprehensive, commonsense solutions to #GunViolence #EnoughIsEnough

One of the reasons data and research are important to the #publichealth approach to #gunviolence. Data shows us that mentally ill are far more likely to be victims than perpetrators @NJGVRC @cdcinjury
19 out of 20 murderers have no mental illness diagnosis. 4 out of 5 mass shooters have no mental illness diagnosis, and half showed no signs on a prior, undiagnosed illness. Framing this as just a mental illness problem is a gun industry trope. Period. Stop.
