Friends, please join me in praying for our Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, as he undergoes surgery this week. I pray for his comfort, for those who will care for him, and for a swift and full recovery. @Pontifex, know that we are praying for you, and that you are close to our hearts this week.
Dear friends, during some recent medical examinations, the doctors found a small, localized nodule in my lung. It was detected at a very early stage and is well-localized. The doctors believe that it is best to intervene, so, following their advice, I have decided to undergo surgery to remove it. The operation is already scheduled to take place in the coming days. I thank you for your spiritual closeness and entrust myself to your prayers.

Friends, it was one of the signal privileges of my life to preach the homily on the vigil of Archbishop Fulton Sheen’s beatification. I reflected on his life through the three paths of friendship with Jesus Christ that we see embodied in him: the breakthrough of grace, the knowledge that one is a sinner, and the path of mission. As we prepare to celebrate his beatification later this afternoon, I invite you to watch my full homily.

WOW! I just finished HEAVEN IN STONE AND GLASS. What a stunning documentary. @BishopBarron presents the best argument for beauty anyone has made since Scruton. A must-watch for Catholics and for anyone wherever they are on their spiritual journey. Full review coming soon to @NRO.
Friends, in our spiritually hungry times, the Gothic cathedrals do what they’ve always done: teach the faith and focus the journey of the spirit. In the new film “Heaven in Stone and Glass,” I will take you around the great cathedrals of France, letting their mysteries emerge.

Before books reached the masses, cathedrals told the Gospel through stained glass, soaring ceilings, and sacred beauty. Experience the story on the big screen with Bishop Barron when HEAVEN IN STONE AND GLASS premieres in theatres nationwide September 20 & 23.

Word on Fire’s first cinematic production, “Heaven in Stone and Glass,” goes inside 5 of France’s great Gothic cathedrals. I was at the Museum of the Bible premiere with @BishopBarron and left feeling inspired. Let’s start building. dailysignal.com/2026/08/03/b…

Taking classic literature to the big screen is a daring adventure. How did Christopher Nolan fare with “The Odyssey”? Dr. Tod Worner shares his view.

The new translation, the second edition of the Liturgy of the Hours, is a great gift to the Church in the United States, and I'm so grateful amazing Catholic publishers have stepped up to bring the new translation to those already familiar with the LOTH, and those brand new to it. I've had the chance to visit with the folks @WordOnFire and learn about how they approached crafting the second edition of the Divine Office. In their words, they've "optimized it for prayer," focusing in on how someone would actually pray with the book, and look at the page, day by day. How does one hold a book, flip a page, stare at words, or sing a hymn? Where is the eye drawn? Does the page need some open space? Where will the ribbons fall? The precision and attention to detail is remarkable to see, truly.
