I agree with Atwoli, IN PRINCIPLE. But he's talking of the natural progression of society, the young work and gain experience, and become leaders based on that experience. And Kenya is NOT a normal society. The British messed that up.
As @TedQuinton said, in 1963, the 27 year olds straight out of school, who should have been starting work, were becoming leaders in 1963 by virtue of their certificates. Not only were they young, inexperienced and clueless; they were looking at least 20 years in office before retirement. So they were never real youth, meaning people who learned through WORK. They never matured, and imperialism was very effective in seducing them with consumerism and power as the equivalent of leadership. So they didn't build institutions I'm which they could graduate to elders and invite the young to nurture them so that they grow through work. That's why our elites are perpetually young. They never grew up.
The British messed us up, big time. The messed up natural progression of growth, maturity and hand over.
I asked @Wordslinger__ that when Naboisho Institute is ready, to please find me young Kenyans who want to be mentored as academics outside the university. People who are willing to commit years to learning. It takes years to get where I am, but Kenyan post graduate students don't care to learn the work. They want papers. So we babysit them to produce a decent document and then go. I am going to retire without mentoring a single student, in the real sense of the word. Passing them, I've done. Mentoring them? Nope. The few students that I tried with said I was controlling them. Maybe because in their view, I'm not a leader. Nikaacha na hiyo stori.

It is easy to talk and give ideas without taking action. I was challenged by many people, including members within the movement, to spearhead the volunteer efforts. For that reason, I came up with a volunteer registration form, attached below. If you WANT to volunteer to perform any task for LMM, please fill out the form below:

Not Morara. He had nothing on him, no thought process, no conviction. That's why on week 5 we heard him advising that child molestation was a matter of kuongea na wazee. Zero substance.
What Sifuna is today is what Morara could have been. He had the youth behind him, the influence, and the momentum to build something bigger than himself. All he needed to do was listen. We could have built our own youth party, fielded our own candidates, and sparked our own Serbia moment. Sadly, that opportunity slipped away.

Good to see some of the reactions to Serbia and Brazil: that it takes dedicated organising to win an election. What will it take to change a system? To fix an economy? To challenge a deeply unfair global (dis)order? To renew a social commitment to the values Kenyans agreed represent them? Just as important, who will it take beyond politicians for this to happen? Kenya is in an argument between its past and its future - how it goes depends on who shows up to argue.

It’s ridiculous and getting worse and more expensive for Kenyans. Has made me cut business travel to Lagos because it’s just not worth the wahala. Do we practice reciprocity @SingoeiAKorir ?

I've just had an interview with a certain radio platform, sijui kama wataipost, hiyo haikuenda venye walikuwa wanataka iende 🤨😏
The drinking and pink gins aside 😆 if you write 2000 words a day, consistently, in 10 days you have 20k. In two months you have a full draft that you've reworked for like 2 weeks. That kind of dedication is where the work is.

Serbia and Brazil are the latest examples of a West African saying:
No condition is permanent!
Let us never succumb to pessimism.
A better world is within reach.
Where I come from in Kenya they say:
Fortune lies on the further side of the thicket.
Boldness has no substitute in life.
The WORK.
We are adverse to work, but only through work can we truly liberate ourselves.

Dear @LindaMwananchi_
To win this coming election, we MUST run a campaign like nothing has been run before in Kenya. We cannot only rely on the old methods and hope to beat the veterans who have been doing those things for years!
First of all, the movement must realize where its greatest strength lies. LMM’s greatest strength comes from being owned by the young people. The hopeful, energetic, enthusiastic young people who are full of ideas. Linda Mwananchi MUST find an effective way to tap into this energy and brilliance.
My suggestion is to have a robust volunteer program which invites volunteers to the campaign, vets them, evaluates their abilities and assigns them roles in the campaign purely on a VOLUNTARY basis. The only thing such volunteers would need is recognition and assurance that the movement shall NEVER betray its core ideals.
This program if well run, has the potential to provide the largest group of boots on the ground in the entire nation. We have professionals such as medics, lawyers, teachers and others who are willing to volunteer. We also have creatives such as musicians, influencers and tiktokers who have already volunteered their services and are doing good work. They just need to be organized, focused and integrated into the formal structures of the movement.
Next, fundraising MUST not just be through the traditional pay bill means. Please let us get creative! Let us have merchandise on sale on the website where people can buy not only for themselves but also for others. Let us have an option for people to donate in kind. You may have someone who owns a car and wants to donate it, let them. Let there be a register of donations and personal acknowledgment to each donor.
After that, the manifesto must include all Kenyans, not just a few experts sitting and deciding what to do. Kenyans know the problems they face and they also know the solutions. Engage them more in conversations. Rallies are good but let us have many townhalls.
In fact, a town hall can even be virtual. The way we had twitter spaces and TikTok live to discuss Finance Bill and other oppressive laws in 2024. Let us have at least two of these every week with a principal of Linda Mwananchi and preferably H.E Sifuna. These are very low cost but very high impact activities. During those townhalls, we listen and take note of what Kenyans want.
These engagements will help the movement understand what to prioritize and to visualize how the first 100 days will look like.
All these activities ant structures should culminate in having soldiers all around the 55,000 polling stations. Willing believers who want to change our country for the better. With at least 20 per polling station, our message will reach every nook and cranny on of Kenya.
I am willing to be volunteer number 1 to give many more ideas that I have. @edwinsifuna @abbiezuena @genz___baddie @FredahOndu61763 @paulinenjoroge @gwamaee

Exactly why the Serbia strategy is interesting, and in contrast why all candidates in 🇰🇪push for 6 piece charlatans notwithstanding. We get so fixated on Presidential vote & then cry immediately after electing joker legislators. Pressure should be on parties for improved slates.

Is Mansa's experience a normal thing in marathons as a result of body function(s) ama ni juu ya the gels/ama supplements that I've heard people take?
This is vastly untrue btw. Elite runners soil themselves even at the Olympics, and not just from gels/supplements. It's basic biology.

Not every runner, just amateurs hoping supplements will do more that their bodies.
