World Vision Perú

A 7.2 magnitude earthquake has hit the Ayacucho region in Peru, the third significant earthquake in the region in less than two months. Our teams in @WorldVisionPeru are checking on the safety of our staff and working with local authorities and partners to assess any impacts on the affected communities. With over 45 years of presence in Peru and 104 emergency responses around the world in the last year alone, we're ready to act if help is needed. The slides below share what we know so far, how World Vision is preparing, and why local presence matters in the first hours and days after a disaster. Follow along for updates as we learn more.

Over 30,000 strong, World Vision staff go the distance to reach the most vulnerable children and individuals in the most fragile communities. Whether over land, through water, or by air, our frontline workers will travel wherever they are needed. "Our vision for every child, life in all its fullness. Our prayer for every heart, the will to make it so." If the only stories we see are about crises, it's easy to believe that progress is slow, or not happening at all. But in communities around the world, something else is happening. Quietly. Without making headlines. Events that don't become memes. But they matter. They change lives. So we present our own take on the headlines. Take a moment to go through these stories. Which one stood out to you the most? Do stories like these get the attention they deserve?
