Folks, unless you have something to promote, the Super Bowl halftime show is not worth it for most major, legacy acts. You have to perform for free and you don’t get rights to the footage. The NFL is FIRM about that. Or course Metallica, Taylor, Guns, and Foo decline regularly.

The biggest issue with Jay-Z being the halftime show performer is that nobody can make money off of it. He has nothing to promote right now. No album, no tour, no residency, no documentary… Professionally, he just handicapped a bunch of industries, the asshole.
