The moment we as teachers stop learning is the moment we become average. Don't settle for average, our kids deserve more! #lifelonglearner

🔍 Not completing homework is not proof of insufficient learning. Thus, missing homework shouldn't be recorded as a zero—it's simply missing data. Better, don't grade homework at all. #LeadInclusion #EdLeaders #Teachers #UDL #SBLchat #TG2Chat #TeacherTwitter

Every kid deserves to be treated w/ love, dignity & grace.
EVERY SINGLE. DAY.
No matter what they’ve done.
No matter what they’ve said.
…No matter how they’ve treated you.
Don’t be the person who adds to their trauma by giving up on them. Be their merchant of hope.

Some kids need high fives and fist bumps, some kids need you you to hear them, some kids need you to see them, and some kids just need you to be there and show up!
Every kid needs adults who love, care and support them every day at school!
This right here is powerful stuff. The more we can do this the less likely we are to escalate a situation or remove a student who could’ve been redirected.

Students who are frequently called out for low-level misbehavior are more likely to become disengaged and apathetic in the classroom. The most effective classroom management strategies are based on building relationships. @borywrites @edutopia
