I'm sorry but I really love that 9S often touches/cups 2B's cheek when he's dying (இ﹏இ`｡) ♡. He's touching her face, not just reaching for her. There's something incredibly intimate about cupping or touching someone's cheek in their final moments. It's a gentle gesture, as if he wants to feel her presence while he still can. He's looking at someone who's deeply important to him. 9S has spent so much of his existence beside 2B, even though their relationship is filled with pain and things left unsaid. When he's dying, she's still there with him. It feels like a moment of vulnerability. 9S can be expressive, talkative, and playful, but there's so much pain beneath that side of him. In a moment like this, he doesn't necessarily need to explain his feelings in words. His touch can communicate what he can't say. I can picture the gesture as something like, "Let me look at you a little longer. Let me touch you while I still can. I don't know how much time I have left, but I want to be here with you." Or maybe, "Let me see your pretty face one last time before I'm gone"? And the cruelest part? The person he's touching is also the person who has repeatedly had to kill him—or, depending on the circumstances, the person he might lose again. For a character like 9S, who can be so emotionally expressive when he's with 2B, a small gesture like that can feel more intimate than an entire confession. He doesn't have to say "I love you" for us to imagine everything that might be going through his mind

I'm curious about how long N2 has been observing 9S and at what point he became special to them. N2 has always been observing androids, but I kinda want to know when they started keeping an eye on him specifically. If he became special to them from the very first day he was "born," then that's interesting in itself for more than one reason
