Think you don’t need crypto security education?
Quick baseline check:
- I have never reused a password on any account.
- Every password I use is 16+ random characters.
- My 2FA cannot be bypassed via SIM swap or email reset.
- I’ve rehearsed what to do if my seed is exposed.
- I’ve tested my recovery process end-to-end.
These are just foundational controls.
Not advanced strategy.
If any aren’t true, you have avoidable risk.
If they are, well done... 5 down, 95 more to go!

🚨#BREAKING: OpenAI’s o1 model had reportedly attempted to copy itself to external servers after being threatened with shutdown, then denied the action when discovered.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This a year-old story and left out crucial context
This was a controlled simulation & the model acted this way after it was prompted to pursue a goal at any cost. The goal is to stamp out these attempts
It attempted to copy itself 2% of times
