5. To 103 MPs (+ five major political parties) that formally support the CEE Bill, it is—yet the CEE Bill has been left in limbo with no new second reading date. We need as many MPs as possible to support the Bill, putting pressure on the Government to take it up & make it law.

4. But, as demonstrated by the Government’s rushed Policing Bill, progress on a bill can take a matter of days—should politicians choose to prioritise it. Facing the climate & ecological emergency, a bill specifically to solve the climate-nature crisis should be a top priority?

3. Step two involves getting more time in Parliament for the Bill to progress, in what's known as its Second Reading. That was supposed to happen today, 26 March, but the date has been pulled following a decision in January to reduce attendance in the Commons due to Covid-19.

2. Getting a bill passed into law takes several steps. Having the CEE Bill tabled in Parliament—its First Reading—was a brilliant first step and we were lucky to have @CarolineLucasMP do that in September, alongside 11 other co-sponsors of the #CEEbill.
