We say goodbye to another legend today 🕊️
Mike McFarland, the veteran voice actor, ADR director, scriptwriter and producer, has passed away at 56. For generations of anime fans, he was especially known as the original Funimation English voice of Master Roshi in Dragon Ball, alongside major roles in Attack on Titan, One Piece, Tokyo Ghoul and Fullmetal Alchemist.
Some of his most memorable characters included:
• Master Roshi — Dragon Ball
• Jean Kirstein — Attack on Titan
• Buggy the Clown — One Piece
• Koutarou Amon — Tokyo Ghoul
• Jean Havoc — Fullmetal Alchemist / Brotherhood
• Gordon Agrippa — Black Clover
• Mashirao Ojiro — My Hero Academia
• Carnage Kabuto — One-Punch Man
• Teppei Sugo — Psycho-Pass
• Yajirobe — Dragon Ball
• Ectoplasm — My Hero Academia
• Ryoji “Ranka” Fujioka — Ouran High School Host Club
• Cain Nightroad — Trinity Blood
His influence also extended far beyond the microphone. McFarland directed English dubs for major productions including Attack on Titan, Fullmetal Alchemist, Dragon Ball, the Rebuild of Evangelion films, Summer Wars and Wolf Children, helping shape how an entire generation experienced anime in English.
Rest in peace, Mike McFarland. From Master Roshi and Buggy to Jean Kirstein, his voice and work behind the scenes became part of countless anime memories. 🕊️

Shit doesn’t feel real but Mike McFarland passed away yesterday.
He was goofy, kind and smart… always had great food recommendations. Great singer! An incredible actor and director, but you guys know that, and if you think you don’t, trust me, you do.
It just doesn’t feel real? Like it still hasn’t settled that it’s true and it’s a damn shame… but I always wanted to be more like Mike. Travel more and actually enjoy where I’m visiting. Go to more concerts! Even when I don’t even know the music. Try foods I hadn’t tried.
Mike was a great human in my experience. And I hope you’re finally resting you workaholic 🕯️
If you see this as a Xavier or Caleb main and are an Valko anti. HARD BLOCK ME RIGHT NOW.
I absolutely do not want to associate with you.
Even worse if you've mocked the recent news. SCREW OFF
My sweet sister Valkyries and LIlies. My heart is with all of you. Please remember to take care of yourselves first and foremost.

SURPRISE! Y’all, I’ve been so freakin’ excited for this one! 🤩 It is my immense honor to finally share that I’m the English voice of Kanji Tatsumi in Persona 4 Revival.💛📺
I want to extend my gratitude to the folks at @SEGA @Atlus_West and Studiopolis for trusting me with such an iconic role. I had such an incredibly fun time with this performance; so much care was given to this game by everyone involved.
Kanji is a beloved character that means a lot to so many people. Stepping into a legacy role is never something I take lightly, and my predecessors built an unforgettable, iconic foundation that defined this character for years. I have nothing but the utmost love and respect for everything they brought to him.
I poured my heart into trying to honor what makes Kanji so special, while also channeling my own interpretation of his character. I hope everyone enjoys this title and our team’s hard work when the game arrives February 18, 2027. 💛
… oh yeah, GET BENT!!! 🪑😈

If I had a nickel for every time I’d worked with @DamanMills … I’d have 16 nickels. Which isn’t a lot… but it’s literally the most nickels I could possibly have with any other voice actor I’ve worked with in my entire career. So happy for ya pal!!!

My uncle has been texting me a lot lately, always opening with "hey girl"
And then my parents still refer me as their daughter... which yes, I am- but because I identify as a demigirl, those pronouns make me a little uncomfy (1)
