I get absolutely no value from this social media platform anymore. It is simply a circular argument of "my point is more valuable than yours - concede," but usually with name-calling. I've witnessed some of the worst of society here. And for what? What has been accomplished?

My daughter: Dad. Did you know that there were people a long time ago that threw parties because they thought the world was ending? Me: When was this? Her: Like 1990 something. Me: 1999? Her: Yeah! Crazy! Right? Me: I was there. I was the party. 🥺

Great point here. Polling the audience now. Where did you learn doctrine or how to reference/cite doctrine?

I think if people actually read it There would be a better understanding of options to go away from the manual. But then again people didn’t know like for PRT before the ACFT….

Meanwhile, I'm out here trying to save the world by driving a hybrid. 🤷🏻‍♂️
In 1971, engineers from the Soviet Union ignited a fire in a gas-filled hole in the Turkmenistan desert. Anticipating that the flames would extinguish within days, they were surprised when the fire continued to burn. Now, 52 years later, this site, known as “The Door to Hell,” is still ablaze.

Children are brutally honest. I told my daughter I got a 550 out of 600 on my ACFT this morning. She simply replied, "Why did you lose 50?" She's right. I don't have a good excuse. I appreciate her words of wisdom.

One more day remaining in the seat before I swap out and prep to depart the Pine Belt. It's been a fun two years.

Soldiers from the #Invictus Battalion recently built a castle in front of the headquarters building. Nearly every Engineer headquarters in the Army has a castle of some sort standing proudly in front of it - now ours is no different. #Essayons

Great advice for any new 1SG, Bill. Thanks for this.
An NCO just hit me up…he’s gonna be a 1SG very soon (as a SFC -that’s another story). In ‘16, I was his BN CSM and he was a TL in one of the companies. He later became a DS, also w/ me as I was his BDE CSM. The last time I was a 1SG was in ‘13-here’s quick things I shared w/him:

#thatmoment when you realize she's 100% your daughter. 8 y/o: Dad. What's that statue? Me: Sweetie. That statue is a girl Elk. They call it a "cow." What do you think they call a boy Elk? 8 y/o: Your mom. 🤣 Me: 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳 Her: I got you good! Me: 🤯

Celebrate life's victories. My oldest graduated high school last night. I'm so proud of him for putting in the work and enduring 18 years of moves and different schools. He'll be off to college this fall, and I have all kinds of mixed feelings about that. #Classof2023 #FutureDon

Almost every day I come home from work, my daughter tries to greet me before I can even get out of my car. She sits on my lap and tells me everything about her day. She has such a positive outlook on life. She has no idea what that means to me when I'm having a rough day.

Also, why can't I buy a T-shirt or a swag bag to welcome someone to my unit? On-boarding matters. I don't see anything wrong with offering a small gift when someone arrives.
How come we can't actually use official army funds for balls/dining in/ org days? Why do we have to fundraise from the same soldiers that the event is for? WHY DOES THE ARMY ALWAYS SUBSIDIZE THE SMALLEST STUPID COSTS FROM ITS OWN MEMBERS

Fun things to do with your spouse: Price the items in a garage sale together. My logic: "Get rid of it. Nothing over $5. Everything must go." Her logic: "Well, it costs $25 brand new, so I'll sell it for $20." It's so much "fun" 🫠 #WorkLifeBalance

I'm not sure why this movie sticks with me so much, but it was epic for an 8 year old. #sixdegreesofKevinBacon
What’s a childhood movie of yours but wasn’t actually a children’s movie?

#ICYMI #MILPER 23-176 dropped. The Enlisted Assignment Volunteer Program allows soldiers in the grade of E8 and below to volunteer for O/C-T, Instructors, Drill Sergeant, Recruiter, Airborne, and restricted tours, OUTSIDE 🤯 the ASK-EM window. @FirstArmy is waiting. #EarnTheA

I missed that memo on changing all my social media account stuff to be more "personal." However, my random, quippy, and sometimes useful comments will continue. I bid you good day. 🧐🎩
