SCAM ALERT: FBI Impersonation. Scammers are spoofing FBI phone numbers, claiming to be real FBI agents, claiming your identity was used to buy illegal firearms, or claiming you are the target of scammers. Then the scammer asks you to download encrypted apps, give them access to your account to "secure" it, or send them money. The FBI or any law enforcement agency will NEVER: – Call demanding payment or threatening arrest – Ask you to download apps or share personal info over the phone – Request payment via prepaid cards, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency If you get a call like this, hang up, delete, and block the number.
