Day 4: The search of Susan Flores’ house continues, with much focus on this west side of the backyard, which runs along the neighbor’s fence line. No other media is present yet, and I’ve only seen one investigator emerge from the scene this morning carrying a box.

BREAKING: San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office is currently executing a search warrant at the Arroyo Grande home of Susan Flores. She was served on her doorstep at 7:05am and left at 8:02am.

UPDATE: A second search warrant was served at the house next door at 8:14am. The tenants of that house are unrelated to the Flores family, but their yards share a fence.

Good morning. I’m back in the Salinas Courthouse today to hear Judge Jennifer O’Keefe’s ruling on restitution.
During sentencing last March, Judge O’Keefe ordered Paul Flores to pay restitution to the Smart family for their legal and travel expenditures.
Defense Attorney Harold Mesick, after Judge O’Keefe’s ruling (before calculating interest): “Thank you very much, Your Honor. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you.”
