Retweeting this thread as an explanation for why I am 0% surprised it happened to @AnjaliApp too. This party completely lacks internal democracy, and pretty much anyone involved will tell you so.
In early November, I announced that I would be running for YND co-chair at the BCNDP convention alongside @notthatkhalid and a slate of climate-forward candidates. You may have noticed that neither of us appeared on the ballot.
The Right will be like "taxes are communist" "busses are communist" "pronouns are communist" but call a police state fascist and they lose their minds.
Vancouverites are really so terrified of homeless people that they will elect a fascist government just to avoid having to look at them. Wild.

Canvassing today for Vote Socialist really reminded my why I'm not running this year. The amount of emotional energy needed to be polite to someone who thinks cars are the future and public parks are a mistake is WAY more than I care to expend in a single interaction.
We needed 10 extra signatures for Vote Socialist's candidates today due to invalid signatures on our original documents. We resorted to standing outside the election office shouting "are you socialist?"at people passing by. It worked- these 3 will now be on the ballot this fall😍
Paperwork submitted. We can’t wait to elect Sean Orr to City Council, Andrea Pinochet-Escudero to Park Board, and Dr. Karina Zeidler to School Board.

The last time I flew @AlaskaAir I swore I never would again...but I'm a sucker, and here I am waiting on hold for 3 hours just to ask them nicely to please reimburse the cost of our 2 additional nights in hotels + extra covid test. What a shitshow of a company.

It has been great listening to @CBCStephenQuinn grilling BC Cabinet Ministers about climate change and the BC Government's complete hypocrisy on new Oil & Gas projects. Refreshing to hear these liars left sputtering after being asked sharp follow-up questions for the first time.
