One of the increasingly missing arts among the biggest girl groups ( and boy groups) in K-pop is full, open vocal technique and emotionally resonant live singing. I LOVE that #BABYMONSTER continues to carry the legacy of powerhouse female vocalists who understand that singing is more than hitting notes. It’s about projection, dynamics, vocal texture, and making an audience FEEL something. #Ahyeon is continuing to refine her approach, learning to shave some of the sharpness and metallic finish off her upper register. The power has never been in question. It’s about softening the attack, rounding out the tone. she is getting better. Pharita, Chiquita, and Rora particularly shine in their emotional delivery. . The contrasting cadences and rhythmic interplay immediately reminded me of the chemistry between B.I and Bobby of #iKON. That distinct #YG musical identity is something I’ve always appreciated. Power without emotion is just volume. Emotion without technique has its limitations. Great vocalists learn to marry the two. Well done, ladies! 👏🏽💕

I love that #LNGSHOT are sticking to their essence. There’s been so much pressure for them to adopt a more traditional “K-pop” aesthetic, from how they dress to how they market themselves. I’ve seen people compare them to #Cortis, often using their success to argue that LNGSHOT needs to present themselves differently. But why is commercial success so often treated as proof that an artist needs to compromise their identity? Authenticity is not a flaw that needs correcting. Art is at its best when it reflects the people creating it, not the expectations of the people consuming it. I love that @JAYBUMAOM is remaining resilient in his leadership and protecting that individuality. Artistic integrity and creative freedom are what build lasting identities, not simply conforming to whatever aesthetic is commercially popular. #LNGSHOT doesn’t need to become somebody else’s version of K-pop to have a place in the industry. Their individuality is precisely what makes them valuable. I can’t wait for the new music they’re adding to an already flawless discography. 💗 #yapz

LOL #MarkLee is definitely a huge loss to the #NCT brand as a dancer, rapper ace, but most of all as a beacon of light and energy to their lore and signature.
