Lazy? Or misunderstood culture shift? At any rate Paramedic organizations won't be able the use the strategies of old when dealing with the younger generation of clinicians. It's time to adapt for the benefit of all.

Sometimes work requires us to sit down with our patients, ones with desperation in their eyes and say, “I’m not gonna’ bullshit ya…”
Sometimes they need to hear that.
It’s the, “You’re the first one to call it like is.” that got me.
Be honest. They are human, so are we.

I remember when I started this journey someone told me, “It’s impossible to see all the things we see as often as we see them and to be okay forever, it’s okay to not be okay.” #BellLetsTalk

What happened to you vs What’s wrong with you.
Physical injury at work:
1. Medical Aid
2. Investigate what happened, so it doesn’t happen again.
Mental injury at work:
1. Here are resources to fix yourself
2. Thoughts and prayers
Have a safe week, everyone,

Don’t let the altered brain chemistry from your trauma fool you; I guarantee your family, friends, and coworkers would rather hear your call for help than attend your funeral.
Stay safe, everyone.

#YourEMS flags fly at half-mast today for the #NationalDayOfMourning. Today we remember workers who have died, were injured, or become ill from their work. This year, we also acknowledge the sacrifices of all frontline and essential workers during the #COVID19 pandemic.
