Thanks to all. Safe journey back.
🗯️🎙️'We got a real lesson in Rugby'
Newbs gives us an incredibly honest post match following defeat at The Brickfields this afternoon.

And shares/stock/equity….
we tell YC companies not to hire during the batch.
founders often find that confusing - isn't hiring the ambitious thing to do to grow faster?
basically there are two types of hiring. one is fine to do during the YC batch, the other might mess up your company.
the type we don't recommend is traditional hiring. this is where you put up a job post, do some sourcing, ping people you know for referrals, and run people through an interview process. hopefully within three or four weeks you have an offer out. then it takes them another week or two to actually start the job, and at least a couple more weeks before they're onboarded.
big problems with this approach:
1. it's slow. it's two months before you get any ROI, and that's optimistic. realistically more like three months. in YC, three months is the whole batch!
2. ...and all that assumes you actually hired somebody, that they're good, and that they became effective fast. you might spend a bunch of time and not make a hire at all!
3. it's a big time investment for you and will distract you from everything else you need to do at a critical point in time for your company.
4. and if it doesn't work out, you spend even more time and life-force managing them and firing them!
here's the type of hire that's actually okay to make:
somebody who you already know really well.
why? you already know they're good and that you want to work with them. it derisks the entire process. you can talk to them the same day, give them a short technical interview and get them signed that week, and have them productive immediately.
you're also way more likely to get a much stronger candidate this way (since your earliest hires will want to work for you not because of the company, but because of you!)
Brilliant! Let’s go again:)
Wish it helped with Avastin eye injections! So much info on my OCT scans..

Can you make this available to all of us? I have OCT scan in my eyes. Would be good to track changes. Thanks.
Had a mind blowing Claude Fable experience this weekend.
My wife had an abdomen CT scan for a pre-existing condition. The radiologist reviewed it and said everything looked normal and found nothing.
I asked for the raw CD, ran it through Fable with Claude Co-work, and got back the exact location of what he'd missed, with the image annotated.
We went back to the radiologist with the finding. He confirmed it 🤯
I think AI can have huge impact on medicine, not as a replacement but as an assistive tool. Unfortunately the healthcare wheels are moving too slow with too much bureaucracy. It's amazing that we were able to have a second view on this. A year ago we would most likely take the radiologist's word on it, and I don't want to even think of what might be the results.
It's not a recommendation of any kind, just sharing our experience. Health is defiantly not something you want to vibe-code on. But people make mistakes too, and it's great to have the ability to have a second opinion without paying thousands of dollars.
The lists clean out my feed. Thanks.
So few people use lists here on X.
How do I know?
I made the most complete lists of the tech industry.
Jonathan is making an app to make building lists easier.
If Grok ever hooks up to lists this will cause an explosion in users of lists.
It's a super power to have AI hooked up to lists here.
Which I also did for the AI community: alignednews.com/ai
You might lower the IQ, but you brighten the world! The rarest of gifts….
My very first conversation at #acl2026 is with @mohitvaishnav who gave me the best reason why computer science is still needed even in a world where AI can code:
“We built the machine and now we need to learn to master it.” Says people who have computer science degrees have a better knowledge base upon which to do that.
After he said that I asked him if I could record and this is what we recorded.
I have already had some amazing conversations.
More talk here about spatial computing than I was expecting.
One attendee told me why: the people who make Large Language Models e that one path to improving them is to give them eyes, and other sensors, and let them move around the world on their own.
My brain is tired, because everyone I meet knows something I don’t about how AI works.
Then we all went out to watch San Diego’s fireworks show, billed as the biggest on the West Coast.
Happy 250th America. I am blessed to lower the IQ of every room I walk into the next few days.
Does smarts rub off? Only if you really listen. :-)
Me wants! Make life easier and more productive @camrufc. Wish it could paint the fencing!
Brilliant. Great start to the day. Going line dancing this pm @camrufc should be fun. Clap. Clap.
In San Francisco and met @simulatedLiam.
His system cloned my voice in a few seconds.
His service does this so you can talk to yourself about what is going on in your day.
A mini me. We talk about what it means and get a demo. You can try it at everlife.one
He said doing this wasn’t possible a few months ago. Mine sounds just like me. Uncannily like me. Voice tech is getting nuts.
We’re all in tears! Keep inspiring!
Belief.
I didn’t have it this week.
Told my partner @IrenaCronin that I am struggling to figure out what I should do.
My agents that build alignednews.com/ai were misbehaving. @digg was kicking their ass. Had thoughts of giving up. Things weren’t working. I was burned out, didn’t feel like had any vision. A guy told me I was an idiot. I thought he might be right.
Other founders have told me about their days going through self doubt. Airbnb’s founders told me their business didn’t work for 1,000 days. Things got so bad they had to eat the cereal they bought for a marketing gag. I was blessed to interview them years ago: youtu.be/4e8c3S4DjHg?si=DyyH…
But I was walking through one of San Francisco’s startup coworking facilities when we saw a group that looked like they were getting a tour.
It turned out to be a group of entrepreneurs visiting from India.
The guy running the group saw me and said “it can’t be.” Said “are you Scoble?”
He then told the group that I had a huge impact on his life and had been reading me for 20 years. Asked the group if anyone else read me. A bunch of hands went to and several said they were entrepreneurs in part because of me.
I cried on the way home.
I was just watching American Idol, which I didn’t have time to watch live. And am crying again. Thinking of that praise and requests to take selfies together.
I now get why so many have told me over the years that I wouldn’t get the struggle until I tried to build my own company.
And I am humbled that a couple who were kids decades ago in India read me and dreamed of starting a company.
Belief is such an important part of starting a company.
Woz’s bosses told him that no one would buy a personal computer. He told me that story a few times. That they turned down his requests five separate times.
I wish everyone could get their belief recharged that way.
It is why I try to have a nice word for everyone. When I fail it causes me major turmoil. And my wife gives me heck “don’t be yelling at anyone” after I get in an argument in spaces.
Build a better future. It isn’t easy. You have to fight those voices in your head and many others telling you it isn’t possible.
Across road from @CleevelyEV is @ritualcoffee. Best EVs to best hash browns and brunch plus choice of coffees:) Top quality; top taste:)
Visited @CleevelyEv in Cheltenham and made very welcome by Matt, John and Dave. Did the first service of 200k Tesla S bought at trade auction by Jonny Smith @LateBrakeShow. Best for EVs.
We learn from you @Scobleizer every day; stay, listen and learn:) Hang to the end…. Thanks.
I ended up my night in the parking lot of @UnpluggedTesla in Fremont hanging out with Tesla fans from all over the world, who were here in Silicon Valley for the final event on the S and X lines that are now closed to make way for making Optimus. These are people I talk with every night in audio spaces here on X.
They trickled away and left me in the parking lot talking to an Apple employee.
“You are committing a fireable offense just by talking to me.”
(Been told the rules by many).
“I know,” he answered.
Then we talked about a few things that I will take to my grave.
But we talked about its new CEO.
Isn’t a politician. Is an engineer. And understands 3D computing.
It makes me want to buy more Apple stock. New Siri coming next month should be nice for consumers. It doesn’t have a chance with people who are using AI agents, let’s be honest.
It does it? If it opened up its platforms and bought @NousResearch to include Hermes in its ecosystem developers would be won over. Hermes is what most are running on Mac Minis.
Separately If Apple came out with Formula 1 glasses I would immediately buy.
And so would many rich people. Such a thing would cause many to forget about the Vision Pro. Or other VR competitors. Formula 1 is the ultimate rich person’s cult.
I studied the most expensive seats at Abu Dhabi’s Formula 1 track.
You can’t see most of the track.
Glasses could provide a far better experience. The tech is close.
The autonomous racing league in Abu Dhabi @A2RLeague has it all ready for the Apple Vision Pro (they are the innovators working in Formula 1 and 2 racing). It is so much better an experience. But would be very minor to get running in a pair of glasses that are soon coming to market like the @XREAL_Global’s that all the influencers saw at Google I/O this week.
I have studied the Formula 2 fan and have concluded that everyone who is into Formula 1 will want a pair. Like you can see the whole track.
Apple has an exclusive on Formula 1.
The question is do the marketers and strategists and executives at Apple understand this?
We will find out over next four years.
What a great night: got many insights that will pay off for years.
