Column: The South end zone at Notre Dame Stadium is where Miami dreams go to die, at the meddling hands of Irish defensive backs. On a classic game that felt a whole lot like 1988: bit.ly/3WyO3av

Plenty to say about Northwestern’s loss in the next couple of days. Disappointing that the team didn’t play its best in the key moments. But far more discouraging to see coaching that didn’t give the offense a chance on early 4th downs and hasn’t improved kickoff coverage

Off the top of my head I can think of the kick return TD that just happened, the 50-yard return by Oregon, MSU had two 40+ yard returns, a big return by Ball State, we can't go into a press conference after this and talk about straining and leverage I'm going to lose my mind
I'm a broken record on the special teams execution. Has to be better, change should be made in the offseason

More Northwestern-Iowa preview for those who haven’t had enough! Plus additional thoughts on Nicco Marchiol at the top
The Iowa Hawkeyes take on Northwestern Saturday. There's some mystery surrounding the Wildcats, as starting quarterback Aidan Chiles is expected to miss the game with an injury. To preview the matchup, TV9's @JackLido sat down with @ZachKoons. Full: kcrg.com/2026/11/06/hawkeye-…

Thoughts on Aidan Chiles being ruled out vs. Iowa, brief Nicco Marchiol scouting, where the QB change hurts Northwestern the most and what my final pick is after the news. Hint: it’s the same as it was earlier this week 👀 More on why that is below!

Brutal blow for the ‘Cats. Injury bug hasn’t been super kind to the team all year but in a season where every other Big Ten QB seemed to go down, Chiles had seemingly been left unscathed. Probably not a worse defense on the schedule for Nicco Marchiol to have to come in against
Sources: Northwestern starting QB Aidan Chiles is expected to miss the game against No. 19 Iowa on Saturday. Chiles has been dealing with an upper body injury and his timeline for return is uncertain. Chiles has accounted for 23 TDs in leading the Wildcats to a 6-2 start.

The Aidan Chiles injury is obviously cause for concern, but there’s a different Northwestern unit that needs to step up on Saturday against Iowa: the defensive line. The performance against Oregon wasn’t good enough—and a similar result will spell trouble against the Hawkeyes.
