BREAKING: Oklahoma City's Jalen Williams has a dislocated left ankle and fractured fibula; Cason Wallace has a torn labrum in his left shoulder. Both will undergo surgery and be sidelined for several months -- most, if not the entire season.

Key thoughts after the Spurs first 3 games: Shooting: The 3s not falling at a high rate but nearly 40 attempts per game is a POSITIVE Castle: Only 2 FT attempts in 3 games. Big reason is how he is being defended OREB: Crashing the glass for 11 extra possessions a game More 👇

Fox: 8+ assists a night and looks the most comfortable operating in the offense out of anyone ISOS: Way too much Vic on the perimeter with the ball in an ISO action with everyone else standing around Vassell: Only 4.3 threes per game this season. Not getting many clean looks

They took care of business after another slow start Defense turned it on in the second half and the threes started to fall late Fox was great and has been the best player in these opening 3 games Biggest moment was Kornet benched in the 4th for Reed who made an instant impact
No Flagg or Kyrie for the Mavs If the Spurs can't take care of business then I think it is fair to start being concerned They should be able to get stops and force turnovers which will lead to playing more in transition where they thrived offensively last season Let's get it!

It only took 2 and 3/4 games for Mitch to turn to Tarris Reed Jr. Wonder if this is it for Kornet in the rotation Reed has started well.

Fox leaves the game and we start chucking up threes and turning the ball over again… He’s been the most important Spur the first 3 games

Wemby did just that with a huge block with 5 minutes to play in the half Spurs have gone on a 23-9 run and Vic has had his fingerprints all over it P.s Fox has been spectacular
They just look like they are going through the motions and it all starts with #1 He needs to be more active and engaged. Get going and everyone will follow but just an uninspiring effort through 1 quarter so far against a depleted Mavs squad

Measured, rational takes on this website will not be tolerated.
Not an ideal start to the season. Schedule becomes cake after next week, but you’d love to get some of these wins against good teams early. Honestly to my eyes, it’s an execution thing. New stuff on offense and players still getting familiar.

I've not seen overreactions like this… From both the fanbase and NBA community as a whole This SAME team made the freaking finals 6 months ago with one of the youngest rotations ever But hey bc they narrowly lost the first 2 of 82! games, all hell has broken loose Breathe 🧘
If you are concerned two games into an 82-game season where the Spurs lost in close fashion to a championship contender and a playoff-caliber team then I am afraid this sport ain’t for you No need for definitive declarations after every game. We just made the effing finals 😅

Mitch assessing the 0-2 start: "We played two of the better teams in the league. We played much better than we did game one. Both games are far from our standard and our habits and our identity. ... We have a lot of improvement to be had."

Again, thought Harper and Castle were better after half. Would be nice to see them get going from the off so they don't find themselves in a hole like these first two games Fox continues to look good (TOV's aside). Wemby had dominant stretches, but kudos to Amen on a great play
Can’t even be upset with that loss The Spurs probably won’t experience a worse officiating performance the rest of the season Offense looked much better as the game went along and the defense was as elite as usual (can’t do more if textbook offensive fouls aren’t being called)

These are the dumb takes you come across when your team is a championship contender Dude has no idea how the Spurs front office operates lol
yeah Mitch Johnson will not make it by the end of the season

Wemby got fouled on the ally-oop dunk to tie and then Dylan Harper got fouled on the poster but NEITHER were called Yet Rockets fans have the audacity to say the officiating has been bad in their favour 😂
This is called delusion. KD tripped on his own shoe, foul Spurs. Tari Eason jumped on Vassell's face, no call. Wemby gets hacked on a dunk, no call. Sengun hooks on every post up, no call.
