I mean come on.
Still, refounders seem to have a near limitless supply of copium so they’ll find some contrived way of hand waving this away

I’ve got to say. Having been a fan of Zelda since I was a whee lass, playing the first game on a secondhand NES, this is a strange time to be in the Zelda fandom. Never have we had so much great lore to pour over, most of which is despised by the fandom. There’s also been/

Let's discuss the facts & speculate on the story of the Great King of Evil, Ganondorf!✨

That can absolutely happen. The problem is that, technically, almost anything *can* happen. It can be another set of sages conveniently named the same as OOT's sages. It can be that certain info from BOTW is completely retconned. It's also technically possible be that a new 4th Ganondorf existed at one point even before Demise did. The problem is that there is nothing that suggests anything of the above - even worse, there are things suggesting the opposite. And until hints of that actually comes along, there's no reason to believe so.
To this day, there is 0 words (neither in the games, in the books, or from devs or other sources) about the destruction of the Hyrule we've played in in every other game, and that Rauru's is a new one. Not 1 single mention, anywhere. Same thing with Rauru's founding; not once is it even suggested that it is a new Hyrule. Meanwhile, when that has happened before in the series, we've always been told so, making this the exception that proved the rule.
So for Rauru's Hyrule being a new founding to work, we have to ignore what I mentioned above, and ignore what all official sources tell us when they state the fact that every NPC and piece of info refers to all of this as the first Hyrule and king. So I'm curious: Why do that?

"TotK critics didnt actually play the damn game" theory remains evergreen
Literally the entire point of the "Even that name... it gives me pause" is Zelda connecting the dots. Unfortunately the Zelda team assumed the playerbase were smart enough to realize it was Zelda talking

I do find it humorous and curious how hard so many people are pushing for the “TotK refounding Hyrule” theory 🍿
Like why not entertain it being an original founding? They’re all wearing super ancient clothes. Their houses look like the Stone Age. The Hylians’ ears are extra long. And super potent magic is thrumming everywhere. Nobody in that era thinks twice about it.
And Impa in BotW even says that the history of Hyrule is as old as the history of Calamity Ganon. Boom. TotK. Bingo.
All of these things make it worth considering if TotK is indeed when Hyrule was originally founded.
But why fight for refounding so hard? What sacred cow are yall so scared of tipping over?
It’s almost as if they can’t stand the idea that an extraterrestrial intelligent race actually came down to the surface and helped the Hylians found the Kingdom of Hyrule or something
Do y’all think you can just make up your own series canon, and it will magically become true?
The Zonai existed in the time of Hylia; the time of Hylia predates Skyward Sword. Stop believing your own hype.

I don't think y'all know what "confirmed" means.
Nowhere on the website does it say "Rauru & Sonia reestablish the kingdom of Hyrule".
At best, you'd just have an ENTIRELY separate continuity, but no evidence of a refounding. Like, y'know, Spirits Tracks' explicit refounding:

"Theres no positive evidence for Rauru being a refounder" its literally explicitly confirmed on the timeline in the official website

If using in-game information gets you banned from discussions, what’s the point at that point? But hey, so long as Zelda Wiki and YouTubers get to dunk on people for clout, that’s better than actually enjoying the series that so many people claim to love, right?

We're going to definitively discover Rauru and Sonia founded Hyrule Kingdom in the reborn #OcarinaOfTime. And that Ganondorf herein is the first appearance of the Calamity. Mark my words.
